Chapter 3 - Count On Me

I stepped in and thankfully the teacher wasn't there, but everyone else was. I took the one free seat next to a girl with brown skin, her hair in a high pony tail and side bangs, and she wore the uniform, but with black headphones round her neck with LED lights round it.

I sat down and caught my breath, I was checking out my room, but then the first bell rang, so I went..but when I got to the building where my home room is, the second bell rang...so I ran and now I'm here. I remember me and xGoldenGoddessx had been chatting on either Wattpad or Skype and we told each other what we looked like. I realized I had sat next to her. YAY I FOUND A FRIEND that I already had but WHO CARES I FOUND HER. I was about to get her attention but I didn't want to get in trouble. The teacher took attendance.

(FYI: Attendance is the same thing as role call, register, etc. It will be called many different things throughout this book because of where we live)

We finally got through everybody and our teacher then introduced himself. I thought it was the other way around by I didn't mind. "Hello class, I am Mr Smith and I will be your homeroom teacher for the year." He said smiling. "Today we are just gonna have some fun by playing a few games so we can memorize names better." He said pulling something out of his desk. It was a beach ball. "To Class I'm going to throw this to someone and when they catch it I want them to state their name and something interesting about themselves." He finished as he begun to look around the room.

Don't pick me. Don't pick me. I thought. I can't catch well so I just mentally flipped out when his eyes landed on me. He threw the ball my way and I leaned flawed trying to catch it but I ended up flipping over my desk.

Most of the class erupted in laughter. Keerthi (xGoldenGoddessx ) helped me up "Are you okay?" She asked me I just replied with "Yea I'm fine, thanks." I picked up the ball and said "I'm Kody and I can't catch as you all can tell." I then threw the ball back to Mr Smith and remained silent for the rest of the class.

The bell rang and Mr.Smith said "You may all go, have a nice day." He said smiling as we all walked out of the class room. "Hey Keerthi, what's up?" I asked her as we walked to our lockers. The school put us in alphabetical order by our first names. That was unusual to me but I didn't mind.

Our locker were right next to each other so we talked about being eager to find the others and random stuff like that.

"Hey, m-mind if we stick together....I'm normally....really shy..." She said, looking down embarrassed. "Of course we can!" I said smiling, my braces showing. We walked to our next class. Both of us got on the group chat to see who else was in our class.

FreezingDog: Hey who has Room 221 for 2nd period. Me and GG do.
GoldenGoddess:We will be sitting in the far back right.

Me and Kerthi sat waiting. We talked for a bit before we noticed to 3 familiar faces. Liz, Kat, and Dragon. Then we all heard "Good morning class my name is Miss DeQuee and this is art class. "She said extremely cheerily. She didn't even call off our names for attendance. She just looked around the room. "Today we will bring making a cover for our art sketchbooks. We will use our sketchbooks as a warm up before we begin the lesson or project. Please go grab a piece of paper, write your name however you would like in the center of the page and then draw whatever you would like. Begin" she said finishing her sentence.
Everybody got up and grabbed a piece of paper. I wrote my name in cursive bubble letters and colored in the letters. I then drew vines Aron's the edges of the page. I then drew a star making it look like my name is in front of it. I then just took a dark shade of purple and colored in the rest. I looked at my schedule knowing that the bell would ring any minute now.

I had room 209 next. I looked over to see Keerthi checking her schedule. I think I'm gonna be alone next class from the looks of it. I wonder if anyone else in Soul Fam is in choir?
