Chapter 10 - Eyes Shut

(Just after the attack on Maya..............)

Keerthanaa POV

"Hey guys do you wanna go to the park?" I asked all of a sudden, I needed to do something with Storm. So hey! A walk in the park should do, and the Soul Family was in my room, Autumn went out after, and we decided to keep our friendship a secret. Along with the Soul Family, Katie and Nathan came along too. We all decided to meet them too, they seem pretty nice, Katie confident and Nathan funny.

"SURE!" Jenna squeals, playing with Storm, Maya trying to play with him too."AWW COME ON JENNA!" Katie said "Let us play with him too!"

"HE'S TOO CUTE!"

"WE ALL KNOW THAT!" Justine said

"Speaking about Storm, where did you get him?" Kody asked, looking at me. I can't just tell that I'm friend with one of the popular girls, and since we hate them and they hate us.

"M-My....Mum, bought it for me...As a good luck present?" I said, lying.

I don't know how he believed me along with everyone else, but they did, and I kept silent. I jumped of the bed and said. "Well! I'm going to get ready, change out of my clothes! So get outta my room!" I gently took Storm away, they all walked out reluctantly.

I changed quickly into some jeggings, blue top and a bomber jacket. For some reason I think it looks like one of those typical retro high school jackets, and quickly got some money and fished for a lead in the box Autumn gave me, Jenna had already took out the toys, so they were strewn across the place. Ugh... clean up later. I took out all my stuff out back pack, and put Storm in there, petting him.

Attaching the lead onto Storm, I walked out, looking cautiously and saw Kody just coming out. And Liz coming out to. I waved at them, and together we walked out, and saw Ally and Justine outside n

"Where's Jenna?" I asked

"And Katie and Nathan?" Liz added

"Oh I saw them through me window going a few minutes ago, I think we're gonna meet up with them?" Justine replied

"And Jemma said she want's to bring a friend. I don't know who, but she skipped off before I could ask her." Kat said, thoughtfully.

"Oh... I have a feeling in my stomach about this..." Kody said

I looked at him, raising a eyebrow "Seriously?"

"What?!"

I smirked all of a sudden, I elbowed him and yelled "I'LL RACE YOU!" and before they could say anything, I took off, running, my backpack jumping with each thud, thank god the zips were still up.

"Your on!" Justine yelled, and saw her run, along with everyone. We ran out the school gates, and for once it was actually aloud. Pupils are free to roam around town after schools, but since this is our new home, I guess the school had no choice.

I saw Justine catching up with me, and grinning evilly at me, before I took a right and into the high street, with layers of shops left and right. I looked behind me, and I couldn't see Justine at all but Kody, Liz and Kat trying to get ahead of each other, Liz made it out of that 1v1v1 and went towards me, I skid too a stop as I saw Justine crossing the road... ON A SKATE BOARD!? WHERE, WHAT?! Well I never said skateboarding is not aloud, but hey its getting interesting now.

I started sprinting, I was running out of breath, and I'm not really much of a runner, more of a sprinter. But I saw the park gates, and Justine leaning against the gates, her skateboard also leant against the gates, with a smug smile. I didn't stop until I cross the road.

"Does this winner get a prize?" Justine said, smugly. I looked up at her and smirked "First the worst, second the best!"

"HEY I won that fair and square!" She protested, and Liz came and Kody and Kat came in 4th place, and they were fighting abour who came before them, when they both finished at the same time.

Suddenly, we heard sniffling... And all of us silenced at once.

"What was that?!" Whispered Kat. We heard it again, and it was inside, we walked in and I decided to take out Storm, and then he immediately started running, pulling me. AND NO I'M NOT WEAK... I'm just reluctant to pull a dog.

"KEERTHANAA?!" Jenna yelled, and ran after me. Stormageddon was onto something, and I didn't want to stop him. We saw Katie and Nathan on a bench huddled together, and they saw us, all running.

Storm made a sharp right, and we were in the bin area, where there was three yellow bins. The muffles were louder. That's when I realized. I let go of the dog and threw myself against the middle one, and yelled.

"MAYA! IS THAT YOU?!" I banged on it, hoping for a answer.

"H-Hello? P-please h-help me!" Said a familiar muffled voice, at least she was alive. Everyone looked at it shocked, and looked at them annoyed

"Well I can't open this lid on my own, come on!" I urged, everyone came and put their fingers under the lid and we pushed it up with ease, with the amount of hands. Since I was small, I had to jump and grasp with my elbows against  the bin, and there sat Maya, bruised and red-eyes. Instantly I got even more worried about her, she looked up with a relieved.

"Oh my god, Maya what happened!" Katie gasped.

She looked at us all "I just wanna get out."

"Of course, Of course...!" Jenna said, and she grabbed Maya's hand, and we pulled her out, and layed her down, against the bin. I looked at her worryingly.

"Who did this! I WILL FIND THEM AND SKIN THEM ALIVE!?" Kody bellowed.

"M-M...." Maya stared, but crumpled up into a ball, tears forming. I kneeled next to her, and Justine next to her.

"Maya... What happened...?" Liz said, calmer.

Maya gulped and spoke " I was utterly shocked at her, at the whole thing about that guy, and that girl coming in...KitKat was it? I was bewildered for the whole day people kept giving me worried looks. Why? Why would she do that?? Does it give her pleasure or is she insecure? I thought to myself.

After school I couldn't take it anymore. So I tried to find missy, damn she was hard to find! I walked towards the far lockers, to see Missy.

She stared at me for a good 30 seconds before thinking of anything to say, I didn't do anything! I plucked up some courage and walked towards her.

"Hey, what do you think your doing freshman!" She spat out rudely.

I wanted punch that stupid smirk off her face but she has the upper hand. She knows my past and she's not afraid to spill it out...I wa-wanted to g-go to t-th-the pa-park with y-you. I stuttered uncontrollably. I wonder why I try to be nice...Naww is little freshman Maya stuttering? She teased.Yes-s or n-no I said still weirdly stuttering, snap out of it Maya! Haha! Fine! She sneered ungratefully. I seriously regret being nice.I stood at the park wearing my hoodie and my jeans, it was so cold, and then her boys came to the park and beat me up... They threw me in here and banged the door on me!"

I looked at the gang "We need to carry her, she's obviously tired."

Nathan stepped forward "I'll-."

"Nope!" I will!" I said, cutting in, picking her up slowly, Jenna and Kat stayed behind me just in case I dropped her. I piggy backed her, and sighed.

"So Missy did this..." Katie sighed, as we all started back...
