April Fools' Day

Aquarius

I silently crept down the hallway in the shadows; however, it wasn't easy because the moonlight pierced through the darkness like a silver sword. The deafening sound of silence hung in the air leaving me alone with my thoughts. My eyes wandered towards the window and the twinkling stars that dotted the velvety blue sky. It would be nice to lay out under them and wonder about- No, I have a mission to accomplish! Stargazing can happen later. I have to stay on task. I cleared my head and continued down my path into the still night.

"What do you think you're doing?" a deep voice cut through the silence. My heart leapt into my throat. I whirled around to see a tall figure standing in the middle of the hallway: Scorpio.

"What are you doing?" I whispered.

"Waiting for you to answer my question," he replied.

"Well, looks like you'll be doing that for awhile," I said briskly.

"So let me guess, you're doing something illegal?"

"I might have to if you keep questioning me."

"Do I need to wake the others up? I don't feel safe here alone," Scorpio teased. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm planning my April Fools' Day prank for Sagittarius after what happened last year..."

"Well this is new..." I raised my eyebrows in shock at my reflection in the mirror. Platinum blonde hair ran down my back. Was something in the shampoo I used? Then I remembered the date: April 1st. I quickly changed into my clothes and dried my newly blonde hair. I left the bathroom and walked into the kitchen pretending nothing was wrong. Laughter erupted from the signs.

"I love your hair, Aqua," Sagittarius laughed.

"Oh, thanks. I was trying something new," I replied casually.

"You should thank Sagi," Aries chuckled.

"April Fools!" she exclaimed.

"That was hilarious seeing you with blonde hair for weeks!" Scorpio tried to stifle a laugh.

"And it's going to be even more hilarious seeing Sagittarius get a taste of her own medicine," I smiled mischievously. Scorpio's eyes lit up.

"I think I can help you with that."

Aries

The crowd roared in my ears as I sprinted towards the finish line. The race was close and I could almost feel the breath of my opponents on my neck. Out of the corner of my eye I saw one of the other runners passing me. His eyes met mine and he smirked at me. I felt anger bubble up inside of my chest. Adrenaline coursed through my veins and I flew past him. "Aries! Aries! Aries!" The crowd chanted. The finish line was right in front of me. With one more flying bound, I- My door slammed open causing my to jerk up in bed. My eyes met with pale blue-green ones.

"Oh, sorry! Where you still sleeping?" Pisces asked.

"It's fine," I muttered as I ran my fingers through my fiery hair. "So why are you here?"

"I want you to help my come up with an April Fools' Day prank for everyone," he said. I was shocked to see a mischievous glint in his eyes. I would never guess the Fish had a darker side deep down.
