Aries bolted towards the door as he dragged Sagittarius and Leo by the wrists; however, it seemed like all the signs had the same idea. He was squished between Libra and Virgo who were fighting to get out the door.
"Move!" Aries growled as he attempted to push the two out of the way. Libra, who was smaller than the two boys, slipped out between Aries and the door frame. Leo followed her and pulled the two other Fire Signs out behind her.
"C'mon, slowpokes!" she urged. They chased after Libra who had already made it into one of the two cars the Zodiacs owned. Sagittarius dashed to the other car and plopped down in the driver's seat. "Shot gun!" Leo shouted as she sat down in the passenger's seat.
"Aww, no fair!" Aries pouted.
"Just get in the damn car!" Sagittarius yelled. Aries obeyed and slammed the door closed. The Archer wasted no time to slam on the gas pedal and fly out of the driveway.
"Ah!" Leo cried as she was jerked forward.
"Sorry!" he replied.
"Maybe I should drive," she said slightly annoyed. "You're going to drive us off a cliff."
"Hey, all that matters is the we got a car! Fire Signs for the win!" Sagittarius hollered. Aries and Leo cheered.
"Wooo!" Aries whooped. "We'll show those other signs who are really the awesome ones!"
"Wait, where are we going?" Leo asked. She frowned as the Archer turned onto a narrow dirt road.
"The forest, of course!" he replied. "The clue was, 'Your adventures begin where plants live within' or something like that."
"I guess that makes sense," Aries nodded.
"But the forest is so big! The stone could be anywhere in there," she argued.
"Where else could it be? The forest is filled with trees," he persisted.
"Fine. But if we lose, it's your fault," she said.
The Fire Signs drove for about twenty minutes on the road until they reached a parking lot for campers. The parking lot was mostly empty, so parking wasn't an issue. They got out of the car and stood at the edge of the forest. Large trees towered over them and casted mysterious shadows on the ground. The air smelled like pine and soil.
"You scared?" Sagittarius teased.
Leo pretended to look offended. "You think that I would be afraid?" she gasped.
"Okay, enough flirting, you two," Aries interrupted. "We have a scavenger hunt to win." The two turned bright red.
"Why would I flirt with him?" Leo said disgustedly. "I can understand why someone would want to flirt with me, but him?"
"It's okay. I understand you have to deny your feelings for me because you feel intimidated by my awesomeness. I have that effect on people," Sagittarius grinned.
"Okay, back to the scavenger hunt!" she rolled her eyes. Aries led the way into the forest. The temperature dropped as the sun was shielded by the crowns of the trees. A thin path weaved through the trees and led to who-knows-where.
"Should we follow the path?" Aries asked.
"I think that would be our best bet," Leo answered. "I still don't have any idea on where the stone will be in this giant forest."
"It'll probably be somewhere on the path. Let's keep going," Sagittarius said. The three continued down the path through the trees; however, the trees started thinning out and sunlight started to shine through the leaves.
