As i search through the plane for some supplies, A killing thought comes to my mind. Duke, my dog, I brought him on the plane. "Hey guys, do you now how to get into the cargo belly of the aircraft?!"
"Um, no, but we can find out. Why?"
"Whell, i just remembered that, I....., well, i brought my dog in the plane with me. He was loaded in to the plane separately."
"Awhh, thats sad. i'm so sorry David."
Me and Lela go and find a way into the belly while josh fiddles around with some sticks and starts a fire. We find a way in through the side, and peer into the darkness. The first thing I notice is the reeking odor coming from inside. It must be Duke. I go to the large crate at the left side of the cargo belly. I see him. Duke is layed on his side, with blood stains down the right side of his shoulder and back.
"Duke!" I yell, for no particular reason. Maybe it was for my anger, at the plane crashing, or in sympathy, for the death of Duke.
"should we bury him?" Asked Lela.
I don't even respond. I just pick Duke up, and take him out.
We bury Duke by the lake, were he can be peeaceful. then , we all have to go back to searching the plane. I am searching through a lady's purse, when something catches my eye. It's a small, white and blue tube that says "Lifestraw". I run down to lake, and dip the straw in. I suck up almost alot of water, and it's all clean. Lela and Josh come running after me.
"What is is?" Josh akses.
"It's a Lifestraw, it purifies water when it goes through the tube." I say.
We all take turns using the straw, and i feel more safe, knowing that we will have and endless supply of water. When they are done, i put the straw in my small backpack, where i won't lose it. We all head back to the plane, and eat some Rabbit. It tasted amazing after being starved.
For the first time since the crash, we are all satisfied.
