After the Prince left us, his servants led us to where we will be staying. The servants explained that we will be staying on the rooms where the other prince and princesses stay when they come here to visit.
"Though that rarely happens nowadays." The chestnut haired servant stopped in front of a door. "The young daughter of Lord Corvette will be staying here. This is the room where where Princess Cass stays."
I shoot a suspicious look at the servant. For a servant to address the second princess with such familiarity, there's something more to this servant than just what meets the eye. I enter my room.
I let my handmaids do most of the preparations in my room. I bathed and went out into the city.
I left my maidservants in the palace and walked alone on the streets of Dragonfang. A young maiden strolling the streets of a military city wearing silver robes.
I first approached a clothing shop. As I entered the shop, the first thing I notice is the fashion of the clothing that are displayed.
On the main window of the shop, a robe made of chain mail is worn on a female mannequin. I look at it with a mortified expression. The shopkeeper must've noticed me looking at it.
"That one costs thirteen gold." The shopkeeper said. He then continued to keep on talking about how it was made with the finest chain mail.
"I came here for clothing," I interrupted his speech. "Not armor." I scanned the rest of the shop's goods. "How about that one?" I point to one silver long gown. "How much is that?"
"Ah," the shopkeeper looked please. "That one is a fine choice, young miss. That dress is made with silver. Though the dress when worn is still as flimsy as an ordinary dress made from cloth, no blade will be able to penetrate it." It seems that this shopkeeper is bent on explaining the implication of his goods in battle.
"I'll take it." I told the shopkeeper. "Send it to the Palace. Address it to Lord Felix. My father will pay for it."
"As you wish, milady." The shopkeeper curtsied and hurried off to ready the dress while I leave the shop and return to the streets.
The streets were awfully peaceful and the people who are walking around are also just as silent. In a disciplined manner, that is.
Pedestrians weren't crossing on the streets but were all orderly walking on the sidewalks. The streets are also kept clean and orderly. The carts and wagons weren't rushing to overtake each other and, most of all, no one was shouting their wares, unlike in the capital.
"It's good to see a familiar face in this city," a slightly familiar voice said behind me. I turned around and saw my childhood friend Alyse.
"Oh my," I said. I approach her and give her a hug that'd equal a bear's strength "Alyse. It's been so long. We have a lot of catching up to do."
"Sure we do." She agreed. "But let's do it when we're surrounded by four walls."
"Okay," I said and scanned my immediate surrondings for a place that sells food. Since I don't really know the city nor what someplace that sells food look like here, I turn to Alyse. "Take me to the place with the best food."
