"I have to admit," I said as I shoved in my mouth the delicious food that Alyse ordered me. It's actually so delicious that I've already forgotten what Alyse called it. "This is quite good food."
"It's just potato, Feyre." Alyse caught herself. "I mean, Lady Feyre."
"Oh come on." I said. "Just call me Feyre. We grew up together. So, what have you been up to these past 6 years?"
"One word." Alyse said after drinking from her glass of wine. "Magic."
"You became a witch?" I said in shock. Alyse is a very intelligent human being, a true believer of rational explanation. Yet here she is in front of me, claiming she studied magic.
"Actually I'm already a witch." Alyse corrected. "And once you become a witch, you'll always be one. So, 'became a witch' is not the appropriate phrase."
One habit of her highly intellectual brain is that she corrects your grammar. "Fine." I said. "Tell me about it."
"It's gonna be a long story," she said. "But just concerning the present, I have a mission right now."
"And what's that?" I asked, intrigued.
"Nothing," she replied non-chalantly. "I just need to speak with Prince Levi. He's in the city right now so I'll just have to walk up to the Palace and request an audience."
"I just heard last night that the Prince was on the outposts along the wall." I finished talking just at the same time a burly man entered.
The man was gigantic and there's no way you wouldn't notice him because he's wearing a hair shirt and his actual hair is a a mess. He's carrying with him a pick axe. He lumbered over to the bar. He just grunted to the barista and a mug of mead was placed in front of him.
"What...?" I shoot Alyse a questioning look.
"A worker." She replied. "They work on the maintenance of the walls. Anyway, what were you saying about the Young Prince?"
"He's on one of the outpost along the walls." I said, finishing my second plate. "Prince Aeon said that he may not be back for a while."
"And that's just sad for you, isn't it?" She said with a mocking sad face. "I mean you do feel in-"
"Shut your trap, Alyse." I said, laughing. We both jumped in our seats when the burly man on the bar suddenly went over and sat on the table beside ours.
"The Young Prince is dead." The burly man said.
