Chapter 2

"TAALLYAAAA" I woke up to my parents yelling at me.

I walked over to the balcony looking down to my kitchen and politely replied, "Yes mom and dad?"

"We need to talk."

The three most terrifying words a parent could ever say! I scanned my brain for anything I could have done wrong or said, but I think I'm okay. I ran down the stairs and sat with them at the table, and my little sister, Nikki, joined.

"So, we've been thinking about this, and you can thank your sister,"

"Why what happened?" Thank my sister?? Gross!!

"We know that you've always wanted a dog, and now Nikki joined in on the push for a dog, so we've decided that were okay with it and we'll go to the shelter to look today!"

Happy tears shed from my eyes, I mean I've ALWAYS wanted a dog! "Oh my god! Thank you a million times!!"

We headed over to the shelter and entered the puppy area. There sat a black lab mix with a white patch on its neck and this huge brown eyes! She was so cute!! "This is the one!" my dad said and we all agreed she's perfect!

Later that night I had to walk my little girl, Joy.
"Common Joy lets go this way!" I tugged in the opposite direction of Corey's house! But just my luck she saw him outside and went crazy because, being the little social dog she is, she just HAD to meet him! Ohh nooo I thought as we walked towards him. He looked up from working on his motorcycle and gave me a lopsided smile which I returned. Then, I just kept walking because after all, I'm supposed to stay away.....
