Six} An Important Conversation

Shaylie's POV

When I finished Harry's entry I lowered the diary to my lap wearily. Harry had actually had sex with someone just to do it? But that's what that girl wanted. She completely took advantage of Harry. He should have known better though. Who would that just because? Sex is something that can be special if you want it too.

But this is only the third entry. Harry's young and clueless. He'll figure it out eventually. Hopefully.

A little while later I heard mom call me for dinner. And what a relief that was because I was starving. I set Harry's diary carefully on my bedside table before bolting down the stairs and into the dining room. I took my normal seat at the table with mom and dad on both ends. It was strange not being right across from Owen for once. Not that I really minded it at that moment.

"So, how was your alone time?" Mom asked me after we started eating.

     "It was good," I replied.

Should I tell them about Harry's diary? My parents and I had always been pretty close. But Harry wrote I should be the only one to read it. I didn't want to disrespect his wishes, but I didn't want to hide the fact I had the key to a celebrity's death in my hands.

"Mom, dad," I said getting their attention.

     "Yes, Shaylie?"

"You know how Harry Styles used to live around here?" I asked sheepishly.

"Oh, is he the one that-? You know," dad trails off.

I nodded solemnly. "Well, I found something interesting in the woods today. It belonged to him," I explained.

"Really? Are you sure it's his?" Mom asked skeptically.

"I'm sure mom. This isn't the kind of thing you can fake easily," I convinced her.

     "What kind of thing?"

"I found his diary," I said quickly. I felt bad for betraying Harry, but this had to be done.

     "His diary?" Dad asked.

"Yes, and I'm not supposed to tell anyone else, but you're my parents and I have to tell you," I started to ramble on.

"I don't see why this is incredibly important though," dad commented.

"Dad! It's really important! It explains why he committed suicide," I informed them. They looked at me in shock.

     "So why'd he do it?"

"I don't know yet. He said to read all the entries so that's what I'm doing."

"So what's going to happen once you know?" Mom questioned.

"Again, I'm not sure. I want his family and friends to know, but he said not to tell them or anyone. I don't want to do something he doesn't want even if he is gone. You guys are my parents, you're the exception."

"Well, we'll think about it more once you've read it. Until then, we don't mention this to anyone," mom said. She had always been sensible.

     "Sounds good," I agreed.

The rest of the dinner was relatively silent. I knew we were all thinking about the same thing. I mean, what were the chances of stumbling upon Harry Styles' secret writing?

We all know the answer to that is pretty slim. And now, I have no idea what to do.

But one step at a time right?

+++++

Later that night I found myself in my room again. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to read another entry. I admit I feel like a detective when I read Harry's diary. There's not many clues or anything, but I'm reading to figure what made Harry do what he did. It's pretty exciting.

September 10, 2009

Since my little hook up with Thalia I was the talk of the school. Everyone knew about us. I can't say I'm exactly proud of that when I didn't go out of my way to mention it to anyone. It was mostly Thalia that liked to brag about it. You could she the other girls literally go green with jealousy. Now, I wasn't sure why they were jealous. Were they jealous of Thalia's looks or the fact she was with me or something completely different?

What ever was happening, I was spending a lot of Thalia. I liked her and she kept my mind off of Daniella. Overall, everything was great. I felt like I had a place in school for the one of the first times ever.

Tomorrow I'm going over to her house after school. I told mom we were going to study for the test we had coming up. But truthfully, it was one of the days when Thalia's parents weren't going to be home for awhile so we could do whatever we wanted to. I already knew studying wasn't included in that mixture.

Of course I was really excited to go back to Thalia's house, but I was a little nervous. I had always been nervous of getting caught by anyone after the whole incident with Daniella. I could barely look my mom in the eyes for days after. I was too embarrassed even though I don't regret a thing. Thankfully that's over and done with.

I've been thinking about asking Thalia to be my girlfriend. We spend a lot of time together at school and we've already, you know, done it. So why not? I'm pretty sure she likes me too. I guess it's settled then. I've convinced myself that I just have to do it at a good time tomorrow.

I'm really hoping for the best.

Okay, well, I actually have homework to do today. I'll write how everything goes tomorrow.

     xxHarry

AN: Hey everyone! Sorry it's been forever since I updated. I've had so much going on lately and getting ready for high school is sadly not easy. I did finish my summer reading assignment today though, so that's good news.

And Best Song Ever just came up on Pandora. So yeah, I'm pretty satisfied right now...

Hopefully another update coming soon!

Stay beautiful,

XxLily
