“It is only when you accept how different you all are, that you will be able to see how much the same you all are. Don't expect anybody to be the same as you, then you will see that you are in many ways the same as everybody.”

My cousin just stood there, trying to get her motocycle to stand. When our maids and butlers have come to their senses, they approach my blonde and surprisingly a punk rock lover cousin. I would describe her that because of the band tee she was wearing, the leather pants (God, who knows how uncomfortable and hot they are now) and that thick eye liner she is wearing.
"Priscilla, my dear! Welcome home" My mother greeted my cousin as she stepped down from our stairs. Priscilla smiled and started hugging some of our maids. I'm surprised they know her, and she knows them? Now, I'm starting to question her age. She looks very down to earth as she didn't want them to assist her with her things, but when she realized she brought things more than what she can handle so, she didn't have a choice.
I was nagged by my mother for days, saying "Oh you would like Priscilla, she's more a lot like you" and as much as I want to tell her how I hate being compared, I just cover my face with my pillow and let myself fall asleep or just walk away.
As I realized they were all busy helping her carry those big luggages I decided to help out before I feel like out of place, at this moment I feel like I'm the one who's not part of this family. "Wow, she's carrying a lot, how long is she gonna stay here?" I asked and grabbed the lightest one to carry "Why, she's staying here for good" my mom said in her amused tone. WHAT. After I carried her make-up box, apparently it's the only lightest thing I could bring, I went on my to my room but my mom cut me off "Jesse, your cousin has just arrive and you haven't spoken to her" she said. "I don't have anything to say, I just met her" I retorted, but she gave me a sharp look. You know the you better get your ass there and make friends or else look.
I sighed and approached her, trying to think of something other than "Oh, the weather is nice isn't it?" to say. Man, this is going to be awkward. Before I even uttered a sound, she spoke first "Hi Jesse! It was so nice to see you, I've heard so much about you" then she gave me a kiss in the cheek. I wondered if what she heard was from the media gossips or what, I just want to be sure "From who?" I asked. She smiled "Don't worry, they're not from media gossips. I know my sources" she winked "Marco has told me a lot about you, and I know you're close so I feel like I know you right now". I was in shock when I learned that she knows Marco. Am I the only person in this world who doesn't know her? I furrowed my eye brows "Wait, he hasn't told you about me?" she didn't seem surprise. "I used to baby sit him, well...sort of. His parents used to always be on a business trip and he would be staying in our house, so I watch over him. And he used to have this huge crush on me and call me "the love of his life" he was so cute" she laughed. I noticed the way she said our house, it was as if she was a part of our family. I don't even know who's side of my family is she, or if she's my first or second cousin. I bet she was like me when I was still little, and I despise that. How can Marco not tell me about her? "You don't say" I said out loud enough for her to hear. So I smiled to make up for my rudeness.
Before I left her she turned to me and said "By the way, congratulations" I didn't know what it was for, but I didn't care to reply. When she realized I had no idea what she was talking about, she turned red from embarrassment and snap her fingers "Shoot" she grab her magazine and flip through the pages and showed me a picture of me and Marco with a big caption saying "When willl they tie the knot?" I sighed. "Wait, it's not just rumors is it? I heard your parents were having meeting with the planners". After what she said, I had a pit in my stomach. I simply said "Thanks and feel at home" then I left her room and closed the door.
