"It's going to be absolutely amazing!" my mom gushed in the mirror. We were dress shopping for her upcoming wedding in May. "Mom, you look gorgeous!" I said, she truly did.
My beautiful Mother stood before the mirror smiling at the gorgeous dress that fit her perfectly. "It's perfect" my sister, Kylie, smiled. "What do you think, Calum ?" my Mother smiled to my best friend. "You look amazing Mrs. Jacobs" Calum said and glanced at me.
My Mother was marrying her boyfriend Josh, they've been together since I can remember. Of course he's not my real father, because my real one left my mom when i was born, but Josh does fall into that category.
I'm extremely happy for my Mom, seeing a smile on her face is just so relieving. After purchasing the dress, we picked up something to eat and headed home.
"Haylee, You're such a cheater!!" Calum yelled, "Hey it's not my fault that you suck at video games!" I defended myself. Calum and I have been best friends since 3rd grade, we are now seniors.
He's always been that one boy that I can always go to for advice and not feel uncomfortable about it. He was such an amazing friend, and I to admit, Ever since high school started, I've felt something more towards him.
It's not a very big deal, but I always thought of him as more than just a best friend. But he doesn't know that, and I hope that he will never find out. Besides, he's always busy with soccer and his band to even notice.
I've always wondered, What if I tell him ? Will he feel the same way ? Will it completely ruin our friendship ? We may never know.
"How do you keep beating me?!" Calum said angrily and threw his head back into my lap. "I guess I'm just that good" I winked.
His long body extended out on our grey leather couch, head resting gently on my thigh. "I don't understand how though" he said.
It got quiet for a moment, but it wasn't the type of awkward silence, it was just completely quiet.
"Hey I forgot to tell you! Arianne has a thing for me" Calum smirked as he stared up at my living room ceiling. My heart slightly hurt, but I knew I had to hide how I felt. "Oh really? how do you know?" I asked as I played with his hair.
"You're sister told me" he smiled. Arianne is my sisters best friend, she's in the same grade as us, but not really the one I thought to be Calum's type.
She was a tall blonde, curvy body, piercing blue eyes, skinny. There was nothing to hate about her. She was gorgeous and I was no competition.
Calum's cheeks began to got extremely red, "aw someone's blushing" I chuckled. "I might ask her to homecoming" he said. I instantly stopped what I was doing, "wait w-what ?" I stuttered. I guess I was expecting this, it's not like he would've asked me or anything.
"Yeah, she doesn't have a date yet and neither do I, so it would be perfect, I just don't know when to ask her" Calum went on with all his plans for homecoming night, he listed the ways he might ask her.
I obviously was not listening, trying my best to tune him out. I hated hearing about how much he liked Arianne. Why can't I be as pretty as her ? maybe then Calum would actually feel somethings towards me.
"Ope, that's my cue, I gotta go, Mali-Koa's outside waiting, I'll see you tomorrow ?" Calum said as he stood up.
I stood up and followed him to the door, giving him one last hug at the doorway. "Bye dork" He giggled as he walked away towards the car, I waved them goodbye before closing the door behind me and heading up to my room.
Why do I have feelings for him ? I wish it would all just go away, I hate hearing about Arianne because it hurts me so much, I don't understand why, but it does. I just wish I saw him as just a friend instead of something more.
After cleaning myself up, I changed into my pajamas and got into bed, I sighed in relief. It was a long day and I was excited to get a full nights rest. Before I knew it, my eyes closed and I fell into a deep slumber.
