Chapter 5

"Alexis, wait up. " I shouted by the entrance of my school as I ran to my only friend.I might be the most hated werewolf in my pack or maybe the world but i was still allowed to get quality education.
Alexis turned around and smiled stopping. When I finally got to her we both started walking.
"Hey." I said breathlessly, even though I was a werewolf I still got tired easily because of the amount of beatings I get a day and the work i do.
"Hi, Mia I've been waiting for you" she looked at me and smiled and I knew she had a lot to tell me about her weekend.
Alexis is human.Brick City High wasn't an all werewolf school we also had some humans in the school which was the reason we weren't allowed to shift and other stuff that will expose us but Alexis was one of the few humans that knew about us because of her mate Gavin who obviously is a werewolf.
She's the only one who doesn't maltreat me in the school. I have to admit not everyone maltreats me but some just ignore me completely and that's the category Gavin falls under.
2 years ago I considered leaving the pack and not going exactly rogue but I'll be living like a regular human but when Alexis and I met she was really nice to me and we became friends.
My thoughts were interrupted by Alexis waving her hand in my face. "Earth to Mia"
"Umm sorry."I mumbled "What did you want to tell me? "
"Nevermind it's almost time for geometry and you don't want to be late for Mr Jefferson's class." said Alexis dragging me to geometry.

Classes went by in a blur which i was so grateful for. Alexis said she would walk me to the pack house while telling me about how she and Gavin spent the weekend together and some other gross stuff while I zoomed out again thinking about Alpha Jake and his really funny but sad life.
My attention was quickly changed to a different thing when I saw the pack members going back to the pack house through the woods where humans couldn't see them shift. Alpha Jake had commanded me not to shift and no matter how you try to disobey you just can't but that doesn't mean an alpha can command a werewolf not to shift because the first time a werewolf shifts its automatic maybe my shifting was late. It really hurt me that at 16 going to 17 I couldn't shift.
Before I knew it we were already at the pack house and I didn't hear a word of what Alexis said.
"Ok here we are"Alexis said "I would love to spend the rest of the day with you but i have lots of work" we said our goodbyes and she was off.

I entered the pack house which was usually silent but today I could only hear three heartbeats which was unusual.
Where was everyone?
I could hear the whispering coming from Alpha Jakes office. I don't like eavesdropping but today i felt really curious. I walked up the stairs quietly that I couldn't even hear my own footsteps. After some time I was in front of the office which was slightly open. I stood by the side of the wall. Honestly even halfway up the stairs I could still hear clearly but i felt like coming up
"--she doesn't actually mean harm" Beta Adrian said. "I like her."
"Hmm you are so oblivious, when she finds out she'll want to destroy us all" Jake said "then you wouldn't like her. "
I started getting more curious about who they were talking about. No doubt the person was a girl..
"So now what, are we going to keep giving her aconitum? "Delta Lucas said.
Why would they give her aconitum which was wolfsbane.
"You know it doesn't kill her or it but suppresses it for a year or more. "
"It?" What was the it?
"Yea but that's enough. "Alpha Jake said. I heard a chair being moved back and knew someone just stood up. I was so surprised that they hadn't caught me. Maybe they were so engrossed in their conversation that they couldn't smell me yet.
"It has to be done next Saturday, when they think you're gonna find your mate "
Jake growled which made me shiver.
"Don't remind me. "
"Ok"beta Adrian said simply. "I gotta head back home to lily - (his mate).
Oh no that means he's going down.
Omg I have to quickly leave this place or I'll be busted.
