Cardboard boxes filled up my now empty blank room.
All my pictures, clothes, possessions, and memories here, have been packed away.I walk them out to the moving truck and organize them into open spaces.
After I walk back to my room and scan high and low ,right and left to make sure I have taken everything with me.
I'm good.I then walk into the living room and my footsteps echo into it. I look out the window and see my mom paying the man who is driving the truck there. She then walks back into the house and tells me "get in the car,we are leaving now " I nod and take one last look inside.
So many memories to be left behind.
Another person to find
But these memories are special cause they were mine.
Once.I was leaving not only the place I grew up,but last place my father had lived.
I walked out and jumped into the front seat.
We drove to Casey's and get some snacks and drinks.
I take a candy bar,3 Slim Jims ,and a slushy along with a piece of pizza ,following a cookie.I know I'm going to be hungry and bored,so it was necessary.
Plus my mom had almost if not a little more than I did,so that made it even more necessary.
The drive from Warsaw to Nashville is longer than I thought, cause we aren't even half way yet and it's been 4 hours.I try to entertain myself with music and some movies on my phone,or looking out the window and just take time to think.
I got pretty bored and I couldn't text anyone because they were all still in school.
So I guess since I kinda ran out of food and things to do, I took a nap.
I wake up and it's dark, but bright city lights brighten it.
Then my mom says to me gently "we're here" still kind of out of it and rubbing my eyes I say "where?" "Nashville,we got another 5 miles until reach the house, but we reached Nashville finally!" she says quietly excited.
I look out the window and saw all the big buildings lit up with lights.
People walking down sidewalks and in and out of buildings.
It was pretty busy, well busier than Warsaw ,I guess. We arrive at the new house,my mom walks straight up and taking out her key to unlock it.
While she fights the door,I take a good look at my new house.
I know this will never be home, but just a house that I'll live in.We walked in and the inside was huge, from the outside it looked pretty small.
The floor was carpeted unlike home where it was wood, I took a look around, while mom sat on the floor to take a breath.
There seemed to be so many rooms and spaces and I only had to pick one.
I chose the biggest one outside that had a balcony that looked out into the back.
I walked back down stairs and saw my mom huddled as she was peacefully sleeping.
I ran back to the car to grab a blanket for her and I and I laid there with her.
As I to fell asleep too.
