Surviving The Games (Chapter 8)~Blasted

Katelyn's POV

Ugh, I hate Night Watch. It's so uncomfortable and nerve wracking. I absolutely hate it... I watch as the sky illuminates with a picture of Lillith. I sigh as the recap starts.

~Recap, Lillith's POV

I see Laurance and his crew coming my way, so I decide to play a little trick on him. My hair begins to change into a fiery color. I know Laurance will notice it, since his sister has this color of hair. 

I hear him running over, "CADENZA!" Laurance screams. 

I hold in a giggle. Everything else is a blur, until I'm kicked to the ground. Laurance aims his bow at me, "Say your final goodbye. On the fifth day of the Hunger Games, your death has arrived." Laurance scowls, then shoots. 

Everything becomes numb, my sight being blocked off by white flurries.

~Reality, Katelyn's POV

I sigh, remembering the girls death. Hey, at least I got a spear out of it! Gawh, that doesn't make things better... I hear a rustling, so I grab my diamond-tipped spear and get into formation. 

"Who's there?" I scowl. 

Amber Whincheck comes out of the trees, out weapons clashing together. I spin my spear, causing her sword to fall on the ground. I put my spear to her neck, but she grabs it and throws it away. Amber grabs her sword while I get my firefists. I slide them onto my hands, them now becoming fiery substances. 

Amber smirks, "What?" I growl. 

"There's something you don't know about this sword. I smuggled it in here just like you did with your firefists." Amber admits. 

"Their magicks?" I ask. 

Amber's smirk grows, "Electricity." She replies. 

Small sparks and lightning strikes circle the sword, "LAURANCE." I yell. 

He runs out in only a few seconds, "What is it?" Laurance asks. 

His eyes trail over to Amber and her electric sword. He immediately turns into his Shadow Knight form, a blood red sword appearing in his hand. 

"Can't fight your own battles, Katelyn? How weak." Amber insults. 

I grow angry, my skin turning pale and my eyes turning a white color. My hair looses its color. Particles radiate around me. I push Laurance away and clash weapons with Amber. I kick her to the ground, then throw a fireball at her. The cannon booms. Her hair burns as the fire expands. I step back, breathing heavily. The fire dismisses itself from my fists, then I fall to the ground, drained of all my energy and power.

Laurance's POV

Once the fire leaves Katelyn's fists, she falls to the ground. I catch her before she hits the snow. She switches back to her regular form, me doing the same. 

"Katelyn? Katelyn!" I call out. I put my ear to her chest, trying to hear a heartbeat. 

Thump Thump! Thump Thump! 

Her heart beats. Good. I carry her into the cave, then lay her down where I was. I go back outside, then carry Amber's body farther away so people don't suspect anything. I lay Amber's body down, then leave. As I'm leaving, someone tackles me to the ground. 

"Hello there, old friend." She smirks. Sasha...

~The Next Morning, Aphmau's POV

It's been a few hours since anybody's seen Laurance. All I know is that Katelyn was on night watch, got attacked by Amber, Laurance protected her until Katelyn fought, then Katelyn passed out. The only thing is that I don't have a good feeling about Laurance's disappearance. I know that this is the Hunger Games and all, but that doesn't excuse the fact that we've made allies and he's apart of it. Cadenza's going crazy, she's not going insane.. But she's heartbroken and distraught. I would be too if I were her. I walk outside the cave, then climb to the top. I just sit and think.

"Hey, Aph.." I hear a voice say.

Emerald green eyes stare at me. "Hey, Travis.." I trail off. 

"How're we going to get Laurance back? I don't know where he is..." I vent. 

"Well, at least we have each other. Even know I may come off as a flirt most of the time, I do care for you." He says genuinely. I

 hug him, small tears falling onto his shirt. Once I release, we hear a scream. Not a girl scream though... Travis and I perk up, then look at each other. 

"Laurance..." We both mumble at the same time. 

We grab our weapons then hop off the top. Travis and I both run in the direction of the scream. It still echoes through some of the few mountains and trees. We run into another cave, to see Jeffory, Lucinda and Laurance. Laurance's eyes are bloodshot and he's in his Shadow Knight form. His sword's tip is a dark purple, which tells me that he's not completely himself. Travis turns into his Warlock form, me turning into my angelic form. Jeffory turns into his Goldenheart form, Lucinda grabbing her smuggled staff. 

"Laurance... Attack them." Jeffory commands. Laurance charges for us, him and Travis clashing swords. 

"Aphmau, run. I got this." Travis says. 

"I can't leave you...!" I exclaim. 

"GO!" Travis yells. 

I ignore him and fight Jeffory. Someone runs in, clashing weapons with Lucinda. I look over to the figure and see Katelyn standing there. I don't question it, then turn my attention to Jeffory. His eyes are golden, evil lurking in them. I jump, tackling Jeffory. He claws at my face, but I deflect the attack with my quartz sword. The claws retract from Jeffory's gloves, then I shoot up, putting my sword to his neck. 

I cut the sword into his neck, until something starts bubbling. Jeffory looks at Lucinda, who's now on the floor as well. I look behind me to see Travis on the floor. Before I can react to anything, there's a huge explosion. Travis, Katelyn, Lucinda, Jeffory and I get blasted out of the cave. I look around, but before I can get up, everything goes black.
