Aphmau's POV

As we sit down at the table for supper, Aaron, Laurance and Garroth keep glaring at Zane. Katelyn clears her throat at the boys, "Eat your food." She commands.

Since we haven't had a proper meal since... Before the games, we're all extremely grateful of Magg's kindness, "Thank you so much, Maggs. You don't know how much this means to us." I thank after gulping a spoonful of soup.

Maggs gives me a warm smile, wrinkles forming around her eyes. She has smile wrinkles! It's adorable! Once everyone finished, Maggs grabs all the dishes and runs to the kitchen. I wonder how she has a good water supply? She starts washing dishes, so I decide to help her. It's the least I can do since Maggs has been so kind to us.

"You didn't need to help me..." Maggs voice is quiet and soft

"I insist, it's the least I can do." I smile.

She returns the gesture. Maggs and I continue to clean the wooden bowls and rusty utensils until everything is put back into it's place. Maggs and I then say our goodnights, then make our separate ways. Since there aren't enough beds for everyone, everyone has to sleep on the floor. Maggs and Zane branch off to their rooms.

"So..." I mutter, starring at the ceiling.

I wrap a wool blanket around me. Sure, it's itchy, but it's wool. Wool's itchy... Most of the time, "What're we going to do after this? We can't stay in this arena forever..." Katelyn questions.

I shake my head, not knowing. I then realize that she can't see me. Whoops, "I don't know, exactly. When we escape, we have to bring Maggs and Zane with us." I say.

"But, we'd be targets in the districts. Especially Maggs and Zane... Wouldn't it be risky?" Laurance questions.

"Yep... Really risky." I reply.

"We can't just leave them here... Especially with Zane being my brother.. I've already lost Vylad, I don't need to loose Zane too." Garroth vents.

"You're right. What about the other people still in second training?" Cadenza asks.

"Time'll tell..." Aaron answers for me.

Travis is staying surprisingly quiet. Before I can look at him, snores fill the room, "Is it Travis?" I ask out of the dead silence.

"Yea." Katelyn replies.

We all burst out laughing. Travis then wakes up by this, "What's all this.... Heyyyy~ Katelyn." Travis props up onto his shoulders once he sees Katelyn.

She slaps him, "Baka!" Katelyn exclaims. "

Who ships Travlyn?" I smirk.

"OOOOHHH ME." Cadenza squeals.

"GUYS, SHUT UP. I'M TRYING TO SLEEP. IN THE NAME OF IRENE, YOU ALL ARE LOUD." Zane yells from his room.

"CLOSE YOUR DOOR THEN." Katelyn snaps.

"IT IS CLOSED." Zane replies.

"I'll be right back." I mutter, then get up.

I walk over to Zane's room, then knock on the door, "Zane?" I question.

"What do you want?" His voice sounds muffled from the door.

"Can I come in?" I ask.

"Yea." He replies.

I place my hand on the doorknob gently then twist it open. Zane's laying face first into his pillow. I walk further into the room, then close the door. I can hear my friends laughing and giggling from outside the door. I smile softly, then walk over to Zane. I crouch down. Since his bed is on the floor, I decide to sit down.

"Hey." I mutter.

"Hey..." Zane is face first into the pillow.

"Are you glad to have Garroth back?" I ask.

"Of course I am.. It's just... Everyone thought I was dead once I competed. I bet it's a lot for him." Zane explains.

"I agree. But, it's probably a ray of sunshine also." I start.

"How so?" Zane asks.

I take a breath. Do I really want to tell him about Vylad's death? It's his brother... He deserves to know, "Vylad... He recently died in the Hunger Games." I muster the softest tone I can get.

Zane then looks at me, tears glistening in his eyes. I wrap my arms around Zane, him soon returning the gesture. Zane cries on my shoulder, "Are we going to get our of here?" Zane asks.

"We're trying to, don't worry. And both you and Maggs will be coming with us, I promise." I assure.

Zane smiles, then releases. He sniffles a few times while wiping a couple remaining tears, "T-Thanks for being here." Zane thanks.

"No problem." I reply.

"Come here." Zane says.

"Why?" I question.

"Just, come here." He continues. Zane gets up, grabbing a pillow in the corner of the room, "You don't want to wake the others, do you?" Zane lays the pillow down.

I shake my head no, "CADENZA, IF YOU SAY 'TRAVLYN' AGAIN, YOU WILL BE GOING TO ENKI AND BACK!" Katelyn screams.

My eyes widen, "Woah, Woah, Woah! Ladies, calm it down. Travis is here for everybody." Travis' voice makes it through the door.

There's a swinging of a punch and Travis' wailing as a huge thud echoes, "BAKA!" Both Cadenza and Katelyn scream in sync.

"How can Maggs sleep through this?" I mutter.

"She's a heavy sleeper.... Really REALLY heavy sleeper." Zane answers, laying down on the pillow he had originally.

I sigh, then lay my head on the one he gave me. Zane throws the blanket to where it's over both of us, "Zane.. Can I ask you a question?" I ask, out of the dead silence.

My group has quieted down, now with all the lights off. Every candle blown out, "Sure..." He replies.

"How long have you been here?" I ask.

"Not that long... Only a couple months. Since the second games. Everyone else from my Games went on to the third round. Mostly dead... Or, maybe even all." He explains.

I don't say anything, except roll over to where I'm facing the wall, not Zane, "Night, Zane..." I trail off.

"Night, Aphmau." He says, rolling over to the wall closest to him.

Zane and I are in opposite directions. I start to drift to sleep, the people in the second round training rolling through my mind every once and a while.
