~Dream, Zane's POV
It was only Ivy, Isabelle, Chad and I left. Chad had killed his victims with machine mishaps as Isabelle left trails of nightlock, fooling other tributes that they were safe berries. She also went into hiding for most of the game. Ivy brutally murdered her victims, somewhat clever plans behind them from time to time.
Me? Well, I had to kill a few, yet I also went into hiding. I would set traps in the ground, hiding the evidence with leaves. If a tribute was to step on one of my traps, they would be taken up into a roped cage. There, I would either starve them or kill them on sight. I felt horrible doing this, but I had to do what I had to do to survive.
"Deathmatch in.." A voice booms.
"10"
"9"
"8"
"7"
"6"
"5"
"4"
"3"
I take a deep breath, grabbing my spear to protect myself.
"2."
"1."
The voice finishes. I'm teleported away in a beam, only to reappear near the cornicopia. All four of us are standing on the platforms we first came to the arena in.
"3..."
"2..."
"1..."
"Fight!"
The clock counts down from 120 seconds. Two minutes... Three dead in two minutes, this should be... Easy.
For Ivy... Or so I thought.
"You're first, ChaderMcCrazy!" Ivy exclaims.
She looks at Chad, "Jack in the box!" Chad exclaims.
Chad opens one of his gadgets, it flashing a blinding light. I cover my eyes. When the light disappears, Ivy is on the ground with a small trail of blood spilling from her mouth. Ivy's obviously dead. Isabelle climbs up the Cornucopia, just to get a better look of everything. Chad sneaks up behind her.
"ISABELLE, WATCH OUT!" I scream, not wanting her to die.
Isabelle turns around quickly and uppercuts Chad. Chad falls to the ground with a Thud!. Isabelle takes her machete and slashes it thru Chad's stomach. The cannon goes off for both, Ivy and Chad.
"Why'd you save me?" Isabelle asks.
"I want you to win..." I reply, climbing up the Cornucopia as well. I glance at the clock. 10 seconds left, "Isabelle, follow me, quickly." I command.
I grab her hand and lead her through the forest. I start running at an inhuman speed, due to magicks. I slash a hole in the ground, then start digging my way out.
"Zane, we can't get pass here!" Isabelle exclaims.
"I know. Cover up the hole!" I command.
She grabs some dirt that was destroyed. She pats it back, "ONE." The gamemaker's voice booms.
I grab Isabelle's arm and pierce it with my spear. She holds in a scream, knowing what I'm doing. I'm taking her tracker out so they can't find us. I do the same to myself, wincing in pain. Once I have both of our trackers, I smash them under my foot.
"YOU HAVE FIVE SECONDS TO COME OUT OR ELSE YOU WILL BE BLOWN TO BITS." The gamemaker threatens.
"Then so be it..." I mutter.
"We're going to die?" Isabelle questions.
"No." I reply.
I have Isabelle get father into the hole, so she'll be safer, "GET READY TO DIE." The gamemaker yells.
Boom! An earpiercing ring lingers in my ears. I cover Isabelle's, to try and keep her safe. Soon, the noise dies down. I peek out from the hole to see the arena totally destroyed. Peacemakers are searching the whole place for mine and Isabelle's bodies. I get Isabelle and I above ground, the grass forming into metal. The forcefield is broken, so her and I escape thru it. We come across another arena.
"Great.." I mutter, "Come on... Lets get through this." I mumble. Isabelle nods. We start to walk thru the arena.
"CAWH CAW!" An unfamiliar voice coos.
People jump from the trees, Isabelle and I immediately withdrawing our weapons. Isabelle and I fight as many people as we can, but not all of them. I hear the gasp of Isabelle. I turn around quickly to see her have a spear thru the heart.
"ISABELLE!" I yell.
I glare at the person who killed her. I twist the guy around and spear his back, causing him to fall to the ground. I fight off the others. I take the spear from Isabelle's heart, "I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to save you." I apologize, tears running down my face.
Isabelle's eyes are barely open. She puts a shaky hand on my cheek, "Stay strong... And win the games." Her voice is weak and raspy.
"I will.. For you." I choke on my own words. "
Thank you... Zane Ro'Meave." She thanks.
The life drains from her eyes as her hand falls to the ground. Tears spill from my eyes like an endless waterfall, "I'm so sorry..." I apologize once again.
~Reality, Zane's POV
I wake up, gasping. I'm sitting up with cold sweat trickling down my face. Aphmau wakes up as well, then looks at me.
"Are you ok?" She asks.
"Y-Yea... It was just a dream.." I assure myself.
"What was?" She questions.
"N-Nothing! Go back to sleep, don't worry about me." I insist.
"If you say so..." She mutters, then rolls over.
I take a few good breaths, then lay my head down on the pillow again, "I'm sorry, Isabelle..." I mutter, starring at the ceiling.
