adelaide couldn't wipe the smile off of her face. she was full of joy, giddy with happiness.
sophia gave her best friend an odd look, crossing her arms over her chest. "why are you so happy?"
adelaide looked down, shaking her head. "uh, nothing. it nothing."
sophia rolled her eyes, a smile appearing on her lips. "it's wyatt! i knew it, god! finn owes me fifteen bucks!"
—
it was extremely early the next morning, adelaide getting no sleep whatsoever from stupid nightmares. she was nearly dead, close to fall asleep on the restaurant table.
sophia and adelaide were waiting for the rest of the boys to arrive, sophia softly rubbing addie's back as she dozed in and out of consciousness.
the group was quiet when the approached the table, only because sophia had notified them over the phone.
"hey, soph. i can take her back to the hotel room." "wyatt, you don't have to." "no, it's okay. i didn't sleep well, either."
adelaide held onto wyatt's arm, nearly passing out. "thanks again." she muttered, wyatt's arm slipping around her waist to keep her up. "no, don't thank me."
when it came to her, he was the most gentle person in the entire universe.
adelaide nearly fell onto her bed, tripping slightly. a small chuckle left the curly haired boy, hands moving back to her torso to keep her from slamming against the floor.
"can you lay with me?" she whispered. "of course. always."
adelaide was using wyatt as a human pillow, head resting on his lap. he was sitting up, pressed back against the headboard. his hands messed with the longer strands of her blonde hair, massaging her scalp softly.
he didn't want to sleep, he didn't want to have to wake up and act like he wasn't falling in love with the gorgeous girl laying on his figure.
