adelaide was happy. she was finally happy.

wyatt. he was in love.

adelaide was quiet as the group sat at the pool, a few of the boys messing around in the water with sophia. jack took a seat next to the silent blonde.

"do you love him?" the boy asked, looking at adelaide with a somber expression. he watched as her eyes were locked on an object, more specifically, a person.

"love, huh..i never really thought about that." she tore her gaze from the fiasco of people splashing in the water, looking back at jack.

"i think that i do love him. but i'm not sure, love is a big word."

"but love is only four letters, addie."

"you know what i meant."

the small conversation was halted when the group members left the waters, wyatt pushing the hair from his face and jogging over to where adelaide was resting.

"you know, you're not supposed to run in a pool area." the girl teased, crinkling her nose as she looked up at him.

"kill me for it." he said back, sitting down on the chair space behind her.

his fingertips found the bare skin of her back, patterns of fire drawn on her body.

he leaned down, resting his chin on the top of her head as finn and chosen rambled on about a stupid argument.

adelaide's hand found his, wyatt's. her small palm gripped his long fingers, a smile on her face as she looked down at their connected bones.

"you have such small hands.." his voice was teasing, dripped in honey and care.

"maybe you just have big hands." she turned her head, looking up at him. wyatt chuckled softly, lacing their fingers together.

"our hands were made for each other. they fit perfectly together."
