"i guess that this is where we act like we will see each other again but we both know that it might not happen."
it was a reality that neither of them wanted to accept. nobody wanted to part from the person they loved. nobody would ever want to do that.
adelaide and wyatt stood three feet apart, three tears rolling down her pale cheeks and three sighs leaving his lips. three steps and his arms were around her body in a needed embrace.
"i will see you again, addie. i promise you that." his voice was laced with such desperation that a forced sob left her mouth.
they already said their temporary goodbyes to the rest of the group, it wasn't as hard as she imagined.
but this.
leaving him.
it hurt her worse than anything she had ever really felt.
it was like a hard punch in the gut when his flight was called and his grip around her body faltered.
"i have to go."
"please don't."
"i love you."
"please don't leave, wyatt."
"i have to go."
with one last embrace and one last touch of their lips, he was gone.
and just like that. in a blink of an eye and a small breath, wyatt oleff left adelaide with broken promises and false hope.
he called her when he landed, and he called her the next few days after that. soon, the calls stopped coming.
sophia assured adelaide that maybe he got the wrong number. "but he didn't have the wrong number. we texted before he even left."
finn repeated to her that he was just busy, that he was making it big back in los angeles. "it's fine, finny. you don't have to lie about some fake feelings he might still have."
jack even helped, his words kept reminding her that he was positive that they would end up together. "i guess we were both wrong."
wyatt thought about her occasionally. he viewed there relationship as a holiday fling, something that was beautiful.
