I trudged down the hallway with my left bookbag strap hanging on my shoulder. I shift it it towards my shoulder so it wouldn't fall off. My legs grow heavy on the ground as I push my way through the sea of students. My tiresome body held up the people behind me.
"Move faster." A girl pushed me to the right and made her way in the front. I roll my eyes and continued to lag.
I was getting sick and tired of highschool. My life would turn out better if I didn't have to go to Hell's welcoming. I turn a corner and make my way through another hallway. Down the stairs and I'm into fresh, clear air.
I make my way through the last hall of blue, yellow, and green.
I follow behind a boy when I scan my eyes looking for the doors. I meet the eyes of a girl. She stands there gathering her books. Her hair was covering her face and had a star clip to remove her bangs. She looks up and I immediately keep walking forwards as if I didn't just stood in the middle of the hall and stare at her. As I reach for the railing I dash down the stairs and storm out of the rusty building.
Free at last. I mentally cry to myself. The air brushed my messy hair to side to side. I stretch and take another deep breath. It felt good to get out of a smelly roast of students. They all should start showering more. Hygiene is always a yes. I swear half of the student body doesn't even brush their teeth.
My mind races of color and animals. I think to myself, "What would I become if I dropped out of high school?" Just a thought.
I make a plop sound in the seat as I roar my car to life. I sit there for a few moments. I was waiting for something but I didn't know what.
The star clip girl came to my view as she went onto her pastel blue bike. She hums a tune as she rides her bike up the sidewalk with her bookbag hanging loosely. She stars singing and smiling at the sun. She then turns a corner and comes out of sight. I felt a smile creep on my lips. I immediately shut my mouth.
I roll my windows down and pull out of the parking lot. My music blasts from my beat up stereo. As I roll down the street I felt a weight pull off my chest.
Freedom at last.
