I watch the squirrels chase each other up the tree and around the grass. I imagined myself as a squirrel for a second and laugh. No wonder my mom says I'm a lot like my little sister.

I move onto a bench and relax for a bit. It was a bit chilly, but I sitting perfectly where the sun was beating against my neck. The heat made me feel comfortable. As I close my eyes and think, hands go over my eyelids.

"Guess who!" Her voice sings in my ear.

In a swift motion I take her arm and pull her over the bench. She falls on me and looks up kind of surprised.

"Hey." I grin a bit as our eyes met.

I straighten her out and pull her next to me. She still looks kinda hazy.

"Hey." She looks up at me again and bites her lip consciously.

I needed to hang with her for real, so a quick idea popped in my mind.

"I have plans for us. Meet me at the forest at 7." The idea just flew out my mouth.

"For what?" Her head bobs to the right curious. It was cute.

"You'll find out." I quickly get up and walk away.

I run inside of my house, and immediately rummage for warm blankets. I get some food and water and stuff it in a bag. Tonight was the night.
---
It was about 7:10 and I see her appear. She looks around and catches me around the lake. I wave and her body skips over to me.

"Hey." I whisper into the chilly night.

"I made us a spot, come on." I grab her tiny hand and show her the blankets and condiments. We lay down and for awhile sit in silence. Nothing awkward, just utter tranquillity.

I try to make myself stop staring at her so i pay close attention to the moon and stars.

"How does your eyes do that?" Her voice travels thoroughly and I still didn't know what she meant.

"What?" I laugh so confused.

"It always changes colors. Like it's one blue to the next. Some blues I have yet to discover." Her voice was so intrigued and I could just listen to it all day.

"I've never met someone who was this fascinated with my eyes." I grin at how cute she was.

"It's that your eyes is just-" she pauses for a second.

"Breathtaking." she whispers.

I finally look at her and saw how her nose and cheeks were red and how her eyes were a golden brown. I motion her to me and she scoots over so we are shoulders to shoulders.

"You see those two stars." I point to very close stars to each other.

"Yeah." She nods her head.

"Well imagine that as me and you. That's us." We both look at each other and smile.

"I like it." Her smile never faded.

Our lips were so close. Her flowery smell was so intoxicating. I couldn't help myself, but lean in and kiss her  me.

I lean back and we just look at each other. She touches her lip and smile shyly.

I smile back, and maybe even brighter than hers.

Just this one time.
