It was a warm and mellow day. My mom and siblings are out with my grandma. I was alone for the day and I was starting to get bored. The bland tan walls were starting to feel like they were enclosing on me. I called the only person who always seem to cure my mental sickness.

"Hi Sky." Her voice rings immediately through my ears like church bells.

"Hey. It's a lonely weekend for me. Do you want to go on adventure?" I crossed every bone hoping for a yes.

"Um yeah. I'll meet you at the park." Then the line goes dead. My heart starts to pound through the souls of my feet.

I decided to walk to the park and I took two library books if I came upon a calm place to read.

She sat at the bench with her hair tied into a messy mermaid braid and a planet clip on the side of her head. Her cheeks were still pink even if there were no chills lately passing through.

She turned her head and saw me walking over to her. She ran over to me and squeezed me hard.

"What's in mind?" Her golden eyes shimmer in delight instantly.

"I have a place I like to go."

"That's seems nice."

"Well let's go then." I take her hand and we go on a trail and lead off into a field.

She lets go of my hand and start to skim her surroundings. Touching every thing that came to her view. Almost like a baby seeing and touching things for the first time.

I pull open one of my books and start to read to kill a mocking bird. One of my favorite books of all time.

I look up from my book and saw her running and twirling in the flowers. Her body was spinning about. Her hair came out the braid and was loosely flailing about. She looked like a goddess floating through the wild grass.

She fell to the ground and starts to laugh. Her beauty made me smile. It was like the light was coming from her and not the burning sun.

She catches me staring at her and I go back to reading my book as if I didn't just watched her.

I saw in the corner of my eye her ghostly shadow was approaching. I act like I was so into the book and not into her.

She just lays against the tree and closes her eyes. It's like nature was holding her in the middle of their palm. She was so graceful and peaceful.

We sit for awhile in the peaceful wind. I didn't want to break it. It was so beautiful I didn't want to hurt it. I wanted to stay like this for as long as it could.

My eyes started to hurt from staring at the scrambling words too long and decided to just rest a little. I relaxed my tense, upright position and hummed a light tune. So light a feather dropping from a bird's wing was louder.

"It's so lovely out here." I heard her say.

"Yeah." I turned my body towards her. I take in her tousled locks, bouncing off the sun rays and her light brown eyes glowing.

She starts to smile brightly. I didn't know what made her smile, but I hope it keeps making her happy so I could see her do it over and over and over again.

"Why are you smiling?" I ask her politely.

"I like how the sun makes your eyes seem very electric blue." She places her soft hand against my skin. I hope she didn't know it made me twist and tingle inside. That one touch burned my insides out.

I grow closely to her. I felt some type of confidence to kiss her. It was the perfect moment.

"Can I tell you a secret?" I whisper to her. As if this was the most top secrets of secrets.

I could feel her getting nervous so I didn't. Maybe the moment wasn't right. Baby steps Sky. I decided to tell her something else, so she would just at least keep smiling.

"You remind me of sunshine. Not the yellow kind of happiness, but your kind of sunshine. Like how your eyes light up when you see a pink flower or a rare fuzzy caterpillar." I couldn't bare to ruin what was good.

"I like your eyes." Her cheeks turned even pinker then before and she immediately hid her face with her long hair.

What was with her and my eyes?

I hoped her happiness spreads to me like a deadly disease that couldn't be cured. So I could never be immune.

Especially to her.
