*extra*

I slipped on a warm jacket and traveled down the road with a bag full of hot cocoa and strawberry pop tarts, her favorite winter snack.

I walked along a trail and came upon a large pool of flowers and a patch of land. The sunset was arriving soon and that was time to make a call. I placed the checkered blanket and phoned her up. It ringed a couple times till she picked up.

"Hi." I hear the gleefulness in her voice.

"Hey!" I smiled even though she couldn't see me.

"I'm at the flower field. Wanna come and have a small picnic?" I bit my lip waiting for her answer.

"Sky- I. I'm sorry I can't." Her voice turns into a whisper. I frown instantly and raked a hand through my nest of hair.

"I'm really sorry Sky." I could hear shuffling in the background.

"It's okay. If you change your mind I'll be here till the morning." I then hung up. I sink to the ground and pull of a pop tart. My hands already felt numb but I didn't care. I sip the cocoa and stare at the blank night.

I left two cups and a pack of pop tarts just in case she arrived.

I lied there for I don't know how long till eventually I fell into a crisp sleep.

The pop tarts were cold and the cocoa turned frozen.

She never came.
