Y/N awoke to the sound of her phone ringing. She blinked her eyes open to find that she was on the kitchen floor. She slowly sat up and gripped her head. She groaned and crawled to her table where her phone was. She managed to knock it into her hands where she flipped it open. "Hello?" she said raspily. "Y/N! Where are you?! I've been worried sick!" Matsuda exclaimed over the phone.
"W-why have you been worried?" she asked, gaining her stability again. "You're not here! You're thirty minutes late and you're never late," he explained. "Oh.. Yeah.. Ha," she replied, rather quietly. "Are you ok?" he asked. Before she could answer, she heard muffled voices. "Y/N?" a new voice said. "Ryuzaki?" she replied. "Yeah, are you on your way?" he asked.
She turned to survey her apartment. There was stain of dry blood on her counter which dripped to the floor in a small puddle. She gasped. "Y/N! Are you alright?!" he asked and she could hear a gasp in the background. "Yeah.. I'll be there soon," she said before hanging up. She groaned as she took a wipe to the stains. She took a quick cold shower and washed her hair. She then got dressed in a pair of skinny jeans, black converse, and a purple sweater. She sighed as she walked to work.
She entered work that day, proud of herself for remembering her suitcase. She knocked gently before entering. She blushed as all eyes were on her as she made her way to her seat. Matsuda smiled at her happily. She gave a small smile in return. "So.. I will now assign you your rooms," Ryuzaki said, drawing the attention of off Y/N.
He called everyone one by one until Y/N was the only one left. "May I ask why you were late?" Y/N gaped slightly, unprepared to answer the question. "I, uh, overslept," she muttered. "Oh.. I just wondered if you were in trouble of some sort..." He pondered. She nearly choked on her coffee, resulting in her coughing. "W-what trouble would I be in?" she said nervously. "I'm not sure, I just thought you might have gotten hurt. Did you? Judging by the what appears to be dried blood on your shoe, would assume so," he said monotonously.
"Yeah, I fell last night, no big deal," she said, still on edge. "It's ok to talk to me, you know," he said quietly. "I- uh- I will do just that! Thank you!" she said, plastering a smile on her face. "Good," he smiled and handed her a slip of paper with a map on it. "Of the building," he said, noticing the confusion on her face. She nodded and hurried away.
Once she set up her room, she flopped onto her bed. She closed her eyes for a moment, hoping for a nap to come willingly. A knock sounded on her door. She shot up and answered it. Matsuda was on the other side. "Hey Y/N!" he greeted as she invited him in. "Hey Matsu!" She replied. "So.. Why were you late?" he asked, sitting on her bed.
"I fell," she started. "Oh, yeah I fell a bit behind this morning too, heh," he said with a chuckle. "Yeah, behind," Y/N agreed. "So... How are you holding up?" Y/N asked him. "I'm having fun! Maybe after spending time with them, the others will like me!" he said happily. "They should Matsuda!" she replied, hugging him. He blushed and hugged her back.
They soon returned to the main room. "Well, it's been a long day, and everyone can go to bed," Ryuzaki said. Everyone smiled and high fived, a few going to Matsuda's room. He grinned at Y/N and left with the other guys. Instead of going to her room, YN simply moved to a chair closer to Ryuzaki.
He rose an eyebrow. "Since I came in late, I thought I could help," she said. "You're tardiness is forgiven. You should go on to bed," he said. "Well, you're still awake! I'll just help you," she offered. "That's really not necessary," he replied, typing up more reports. "I'll do anything you need me too!" she said, almost begging. "Could you... Keep me company," he said decisively.
"I- I suppose," she said. "I've known you for about two weeks, and I know the bare minimum.. Please, tell me more," Ryuzaki said. "My name is F/N L/N, and I moved to Japan three years ago from (home). I am 22 years old and I live alone," she said quickly. "Interesting... Do you have insomnia?" he asked. "Whoa! What kind of question is that?!" Y/N jumped. "I was just wondering. You seem tired often, yet you're smart enough to know when to sleep. The only logical answer is that you're an insomniac," he explains.
"I'm going to bed," she sighed. "You could sleep in here," he whispered. "What?" she asked, walking back into the room. He cleared his throat. "If you would be more comfortable, you could sleep on this sofa," he said, nodding towards the couch. "C-can I try that tomorrow?" I still have to get ready for bed," she explained. "Yes of course," he said, not taking his eyes off the screen.
Y/N began walking out of the room. "Oh, and Y/N?" She turned to face him. "Have a good rest."
