YN opened her eye to face the blinding white lights of the hospital. After blinking several times, she looked around her. A dull beeping was beside her head on one side, and silence serenaded the other. She shook her head and looked down to her hands. Wires and tubes jutted out of her arms, and she could feel the sharp needle resting in her neck.

"How do you feel?" YN gasped upon hearing the familiar deep voice beside of her. She looked over to see L's familiar dark eyes watching her. "I f-feel ok.." she rasped. Her mouth and lips felt dry. "You scared us." YN blushed softly. "Sorry.. what happened again?" L chuckled a bit. "It's quite surprise you don't remember actually. You rushed in to save Matsuda back at the burning building, and somehow or another you were shot."

She nodded, hoping he would explain further. "Well, they caught the shooter. No one can truly identify him. Watari or I have yet to meet or see him." "Why is that?" YN inquired. "Watari rarely leaves the task force headquarters." "And you?" There was a silence for a bit. "I was here with you. Do you know how awful the cafeteria food is here?" he said nonchalantly. She smiled. "Y-you stayed with.. me?"

L bit his thumb and smiled at her. "Yes, YN. Is that so hard to believe?" She was surprised to hear his taunt. "W-well, I mean-" "YN!" Both young adults looked to the door. Light stood there with a bouquet of flowers. He ran towards her and embraced her tightly. She cringed and moaned in pain as he squeezed her gentle form.

"Light, I think miss L/N needs some rest. Please be gentle." Light nodded and pulled back, smiling at her. She smiled at L thankfully. "Right- ah, sorry, love," Light apologized to her. 'Love?' YN asked herself. "Could we get you anything?" Light asked.

"I'm a bit thirsty, but-" "You heard her- L, would you go get a cup of water for her?" "Light why don't you-" YN was interrupted. "Ok, Light." YN glanced sadly at the door L had exited. She really did not want to be alone with Ki- I mean Light.

Light took a seat in L's chair. He took YN's hand in his and placed a kiss to her knuckles. Trying to hide her distaste, YN tried to smile at him. "You know, YN, we get along quite nicely, don't you agree?" "Well-" "And I know you're not really dating L. So he's not particularly in our way..." He smirked. "What do you say we-" "Oh! What's taking L so long?" YN interrupted, squirming slightly. "What? No, let's forget about him."

Light stood up and began leaning closer to her. As Light went in for the kiss, she turned her head quickly. His lips collided with her cheek. He pulled back, about to speak, when L came in. "Here you go," he said softly, handing YN the cup. "Thank you so much, L," YN said kindly. Light's fists were clenched rather tightly.

"L, could I have a moment alone with YN?" L looked to her questioningly before shrugging. YN sighed quietly, which L noticed. "I'll be right back," he said, looking directly at her, which Light was not aware of.

Unbeknownst to Light or YN, L set his watch to go off in five minutes. YN gulped nervously. "So, you don't want to kiss me?" She shook her head slightly. "C-come on, YN.. you'll like it! I swear," Light continued. "Light, please I can't-" her plead was interrupted by Light jumping atop YN. His legs pinned her lower half down, and the wires did the same to the top. His hand gripped her face firmly. "You'll. Like. It," he growled, pressing his lips against hers roughly.

YN struggled. "Don't say a word to anyone," Light muttered, crawling off of the girl. "And why not?" she spat back. "Because, I'll kill someone you love," he smirke before leaving the room. YN stared at the door, eyes wide. So L was right, of course.

Light Yagami was Kira. And who else could it be? L was always right, and here was the evidence. But she knew no one would know. There were no cameras in the room, or other people. It was her and Light alone sadly.

Just as tears welled up inside her eyes, the door opened and L came in, looking slightly confused. "Where did Light-Kun go all of the sudden?" YN shrugged, trying to hide the frown on her face. "Is everything alright, YN?" YN nodded shakily, a sob escaping her lips. L quickly took notice and furrowed his brows. "YN.. what's wrong?"

She began sobbing relentlessly. This was it. She felt terrible about not being able to wait until the great detective left before crying, but it all happened too fast. One, she was in the hospital, two, she had just been pinned down by someone she did not particularly like, and third, and the worst, she knew who Kira was and couldn't do anything about it.

Tears slipped down her cheeks and she tried to move her arms to hold her face. The tubes wouldn't allow the move as she continued to struggle. "Hey, shh.." L said calmly, taking her shaking hands in his. "I know how traumatic this is for you, and I apologize. But please, do not cry." YN's eyes met his, and she felt better. L frowned and leaned forward, resting his head on her shoulder. He still held her hands in his, pulling one of them to press against his lips.

They stayed in the same position long after her crying ceased. "It's been two days since you were last awake," he said quietly several hours later. "Really?" "Yes, and I haven't left your side- I think you can trust me. So, please tell me what is bothering you," L said gently. "Just Light, to be honest," she said. "What has Light done?"

"He knows we're not dating, and he pinned me down and kissed me. He's done other things in the p-past." L downed in response to her thoughts. "I'm sorry, YN. I promise you this: you will be ok." You could only smile thankfully and begin to drift off with L's arm around you.
