***Duff's POV***
I stared at Tara as she cleared her throat and glanced down at her hands, swallowing deeply.
"Well, first off, I should introduce myself," she said, "I'm Tara and my husband is Duff."
I gave them a close mouthed smile and a slight wave.
"Okay... so, the story," she heavily breathed, clearly having no idea what she's going to say.
"Yes," Dolly said impatiently, "the story of how you two met."
"I know," Tara shot back, chugging down her glass of champagne.
Damn, why does she care so much of what these rich, uptight fuckers think?
"Well, Duff and I first met at this elegant mansion party," she said, slamming her empty champagne glass on the table, "I didn't have a date that night because my boyfriend and I broke up the night before, so I went alone. So I was with friends, of course, and I saw Duff walk in. He was alone as well, and he instantly looked back at me. I shyly looked away and continued to talk to my friends, that is, until he came up to me and asked to talk to me privately. I agreed, and he led me to the balcony of the mansion, with a perfect city view. He introduced himself and told me he didn't ever believe in love in first sight, that is until he saw me."
Wow. What a bullshit story. If she was gonna make up a fake ass story, why not make it at least a little bit better?
"Aw! That's so cute!" Rita exclaimed, jumping up down in her seat.
Dolly just nodded and looked at Rita.
"Your turn hun," she said with a weird smirk on her face.
"Oh... well, to be totally honest we didn't have the perfect story like you guys did. We just met at a club and had a drunken hookup. A few months after that drunken hookup we were both back at the same club and saw each other and drunkly hooked up again and after that hookup we decided to get each other's phone numbers and we kept in contact ever since and we got married," she said honestly.
I liked that she was so honest. And her story wasn't much worse than mine and Tara's. Real one that is.
"Wow," Dolly commented, her facial expression showing pure disgust as she sipped her red wine.
"What?" Rita barked.
"That's just so... trashy."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me," Dolly said.
"Dolly," Brian breathed.
"Are you fuckin' kiddin' me, skank?" Rita yelled, angrily standing up from the table.
Todd then pulled Rita back down to her seat and I was just watching everything, very amused.
I liked how Rita was acting. The bitch deserved that. I can see why Tara and Rita were such good friends before, they're very similar.
Except Tara won't show that now because for some reason she really gives a fuck what this Dolly bitch thinks of her.
"Fuck this party. It blows. I'm done actin' all fancy and shit. I'm leavin'," Rita said, storming off.
"I am too. Fuck this shit," I said, following Rita out, expecting Tara to follow me.
Rita and I made it out and there was no Tara. Did she really not follow me out?
"Man," Rita panted, "fuck that party. That ain't me. I invited your wife because I wanted to act elegant reuniting with her for the first time in years. But that was never us. We were fuckin' party animals, constantly drunk, weed smokin' rockers that didn't give no fucks about anybody."
I wasn't expecting Rita to be this wild. She was good at hiding it when we first met at the party.
"Nice," I laughed.
"I know," she said, "it was."
I then felt someone tap me on the shoulder from behind and I turned around, expecting it to be Tara, but it wasn't. It was Jesse.
"Hey man," I said to him.
"Hey," he said back.
"What's up?"
"Well, that girl we saw cryin' didn't want nothin' to do with me and she punched me in the face when I tried to grab her tit."
"Why would you do that to some random cryin' bitch?"
"Because they're the ones that wanna fuck the most. But I guess not her."
"So no party for you?" I asked.
"Nah man, guess not," he shook his head.
He then moved his head to look past me, and as he did he formed a big smile on his face.
"What man?" I questioned.
"That girl with you. She's hot," he whispered.
I looked back at Rita and examined her. I could tell she's shorter because her heels were making her as tall as Tara. She's got long bright red hair and dark brown eyes, the same as Tara's. She's thin, and got some pretty good curves. She's definitely got that rocker vibe which I know Jesse dug, and I do too, but I'm preventing myself because, you know, we're both married. But, she is a pretty hot chick overall.
"And she's got a husband," I said.
"Dammit!" he muttered angrily.
"I'd like to get goin'," I said, looking back at Rita, "but we can't 'cause Tara and Todd are still in there."
"I know. I'd like to go get them, but I made a fool of myself and it would just be humiliating if I were to go back in there," she said.
"Yeah. I don't really wanna go back in there either," I breathed.
We both looked down at the ground awkwardly.
"Well, I mean, I guess them staying in there shows that they really wanna be in there. Maybe we shouldn't do anything and let them stay," Rita shrugged.
"I guess," I also shrugged.
"I mean, I took the car keys after Todd drove us here. I can just drive us all home and you leave your car so Tara can drive Todd," she said.
Luckily I remembered putting the car keys in Tara's purse. So, she did have them.
"Okay, that's fine. I put the keys in Tara's purse anyway," I said.
She nodded and we both looked at Jesse.
"I took a cab here. So, if I could bum a ride off y'all, that'd be appreciated," Jesse said.
Rita laughed.
"Sure," she smiled.
We all then headed to the elevators to get back to the parking lot.
