***Tara's POV***
Just as Duff and I were finally semi-getting along for once, he does this shit. He leaves me. He knows that it's important that I have a date here, and he just leaves me? I'm so mad right now I could just scream and flip this fucking table upside down.
But I'm not going to.
"Wow," Dolly said, "some dates you guys have. They just leave you like that?"
I wanted to rip that bitch's head off but I remained put.
"They just got a little too drunk," Todd said, attempting to make an excuse.
"No excuse to just leave your date at a party like this," she said, taking another sip of her red wine.
I looked over at Todd and he raised his eyebrows, taking a deep breath.
When I looked away, Todd's appearence stayed on my mind. He's tall, fit, dark brown hair, some facial hair, his grey eyes were completely mesmerizing, and he's just a handsome guy. A very handsome guy.
I then looked over at Dolly and Brian to observe them. Dolly has bleached blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and a very bitchy look to her. Yeah, she's pretty, but nothing that amazing. Brian, her husband, on the other hand was a very attractive guy. He had bright blue eyes as well, a nicely groomed beard, dark brown hair, etc. He could do better, why did he go for that bitch?
"We'll be right back," Dolly fake smiled at us as she stood up.
She stared down at Brian, who wasn't paying attention, and looked upset.
"Brian!" she screeched, stomping her foot down.
He looked up at her and immediatley got up to follow her.
They left and now it was just Todd and I at the table.
"Man. I hate her," I said to him.
"I do too," he agreed.
"I can't believe Rita and Duff just left. We're screwed now," I breathed.
"Well, at least we got each other so we're not totally alone," he shrugged.
I nodded and gave him a slight smile.
"I don't really know how long I wanna be here. It's boring," I said.
"I know," he nodded, "it kinda sucks."
"Maybe we should sneak out of here," I said quietly, starting to scoot out my chair.
He nodded and started to do the same before we were stopped by Dolly's annoying voice.
"Where are you guys going?" she asked, sitting back down with Brian at the table.
"Oh. Nowhere," I lied, scooting my chair back in.
Todd did the same and we both huffed loudly.
"It really just sucks that your dates left you guys. I mean, I guess you can't expect any differently from a wife you met at some bar," she maliciously said, glancing at Todd.
"Dolly..." Brian breathed.
"What the hell did you just say?" Todd barked at her.
"You heard me. Skanky girls tend to not be good wives, as we all just witnessed here," she said, now peering deeply into Todd's eyes, not afraid.
"Stop talking that way about my wife!" Todd angrily yelled.
"Yeah Dolly. Quit it," Brian said to her.
"Oh hush baby," she said, shushing Brian.
"I just think people like you two shouldn't be at a place like this. I mean, your wife is a skank and you..." she paused, now looking at me, "your husband with that weird name looks like a drugged out homelass man."
"Dolly! Stop!" Brian yelled.
"Listen here, you fucking bitch," I said loudly, standing up, causing people around to stare, "you're not better than anyone else here. Get that fucking stick out of your ass and start living in the real world. It's people like you that end up with the worst lives because you can't come down from that cloud you're on. It's people like you that everyone fucking despises. So have a good life and take this piece of advice: no one gives a fuck about you."
Dolly stared at me, her jaw dropped, with no words escaping her mouth.
"Let's go," I said to Todd as I started to walk away.
Todd followed me and we both exited, with all eyes on us.
We made it to the elevator and Todd started to randomly laugh.
"What?" I asked, looking at him.
"That was just great. You ripped her a new asshole," he said.
I chuckled and nodded.
"I know. I just have a lot of anger inside me right now and she really set me off," I said.
"You must really love Duff, huh?" he asked, looking at me with a smile.
I was taken aback by his comment and just didn't respond.
We made it to the lobby and looked around for Rita and Duff but they were nowhere to be found. Did they really leave us here?
"Maybe they're in the parking lot," I said, trying to be hopeful.
"I doubt it," he said back.
I sighed and we walked to the parking lot, looking for our cars.
"Well, mine isn't here. Rita took the keys from me when we stepped out so she must have taken the car," Todd said, "tell me you have your keys."
"Yeah, Duff gave 'em to me to put in my purse. At least we got one car," I said, walking to it.
I started to get into the driver's seat but before I could complete that action, I was stopped by an obnoxious voice.
"You're driving?" someone snarled.
I turned around and was face to face with some woman who was linked arms with some man.
"Yes. I am. Problem?"
"Yes. The man should be driving. That's the proper way of doing it."
"Okay, well, this man isn't my--"
"I am driving. She's just getting something quickly," Todd jumped in.
"Well, good. It's a pretty tight space so my date and I can help guide you both out," she said, her hazel eyes flashing with evil.
I know she didn't actually want to help us, she just wanted to make sure Todd was actually driving. Why? Beats me.
"I can help him," I said, flashing her a very fake smile.
"No, no! Let us help you. Just get in the car with your lovely date," she argued.
"No, I can help my date. We don't need your help," I barked back.
"No. We insist!"
Well, there was no stopping her.
I huffed loudly and walked to the other side of the car, shoving the car keys in Todd's hand. We both got into the car and stared at each other.
"It's not even difficult to get out. That dumb ass bitch just wants to assure herself you're driving," I said.
"I know," he nodded, starting to pull out of the parking spot.
The dumb bitch kept motioning shit with her hands like a dumbass, but neither of us paid attention to her because we didn't need to.
We successfully got out and drove away, not even giving a second glance to her or her date.
"Man. I hate every single fucking person here."
