~Dean's POV~
I woke up that next morning grouchy. I got lazily dressed into some sweats and a black T shirt then headed down stairs for breakfast. I arrived at exactly eight, and looked around to find Casey already eating with Roman sand Seth. I stormed over, my frustration skyrocketing. "What's with this?"
"With what?" Seth asked, confused. "I came down for breakfast and ran into Casey. She's really cool, man." He winked at her. He winked at her. How dare he! She's my little sister! Woah, Ambrose. Why are you getting protective? That makes no sense.
I just shook my head and got my breakfast before joining them.
"Sleep well?" Casey asked, a sincerity to her words that I never thought I'd hear.
"Not really." I grumbled, not in the mood for conversation.
"Dean, look, I'm sorry for yesterday. I was really absurd and...well, I just didn't think a brother came with my WWE contract. You have to understand that." Casey's voice was calm and collected compared to yesterday. She was like a different person.
"Okay." I shrugged casually and took a bite of my waffle. Why is it that hotels only ever served cereal, yogurt, and waffles? I mean sure, there's the occasional eggs and sausage...but the main course always seems to be waffles.
"So, where are you from?" Roman asked, quirking one of his dark eyebrows.
"Ohio." Casey answered, shrugging.
"Me too. Cincinnati." I stated bluntly, taking a swig of my coffee.
"I'm guessing you didn't get much raising either?" Casey's question caught me off guard.
"Ummm..."
Seth and Roman stood up. "I think we'll be giving you to some space now." Seth nodded to us before walking off with Roman.
~Casey's POV~
My mind screamed as Roman and Seth left. What do I say to Dean??? This was way more nerve wracking than I had thought it'd be...
"So...I'm guessing we share dads, seeing as how we have the same last name." He commented, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.
"Um...I guess so, yeah... What's your mom like..?" I immediately regretted my question as he tensed. "Dean, you don't have to tell me anything you don't want to. I may be your sister but we didn't grow up together, so don't feel forced to pour out your whole life to me."
Dean began laughing, confusing me some.
"What?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"You are nothing like you were yesterday. Were you suffering from a crap hangover or something??" Dean's question triggered me to roll my eyes.
"I don't drink."
"Isn't that lovely." He smirked sassily, taking another drink of his coffee.
"Yeah, actually..." I looked down, hands folded in my lap, now.
"Well, I'm afraid you'll have to live with the fact that your bro considers drinking like a hobby." His words caused me to laugh and relax more. Maybe we would be able to salvage this whole sibling relationship thing after all.
"I can deal with that." I nodded then checked my phone for the time. "Crap!"
"What??" Dean's eyes were wide with confusion.
"It's 8:30!" I stood up and gathered my trash.
"Okay...?" Dean looked even more puzzled now, still eating his waffle.
"We have to be at the stadium at nine! I have to get dressed." I tossed my garbage.
"Well, I guess we'll see each other at work... But you wanna have dinner or something? I'll invite the guys too, if you'd like." Dean suggested, smiling.
I returned the grin, heart warming for some reason. My family life hasn't be the best growing up; maybe this would be redemption. "I'd love that, Dean."
"Great." He nodded to me as I left to get ready.
