Elijah's P.O.V
My vision is blurry, and I can't seem to figure out what's going on around me. Where am I? Why do I always get myself stuck in a similar kind of situation. I close my eyes an open them again, but there's this bright light blinding my vision. I use of hands to shield my eyes away from it, and when I remove them, I can perfectly see my surrounding.
I am lying down on what looks like pavement. Groaning, and using my hands to support my weight, I stand up from my place, and take a better look at the scenery. I scrunch my eyebrows. What am I doing lying down in the middle of the street? I keep gazing around, until I notice familiar looking houses, next to a sidewalk. I have a weird feeling about this, as if I have seen this place before. How do I get out of here? The last thing I remember is eating in the cafeteria at the Secret Cave. That's weird, the harder I think, the more my head pounds. I gave up trying to remember what happened, because it will just cause more pain to me. What I need to worry about right now, is how the heck I'm going to get out of here.
Just as I start walking towards the side walk, I hear screaming behind me. I stop dead in my tracks, and turn around to see what's causing the noise. But, when I spot a glance behind me, I regret turning around. Infront of my eyes, is a little girl, standing in front of what seems to be her parents. But that's not all, no I wish it was. They're lying on the ground, with wounds on their chests, blood pouring out of them. And what gave a chill up my spine was...their eyes. They were wide open, cold, with no sign of life covering them. I let my gaze shift towards the little girl again, and she is sobbing over her dead parents. What happened?
Then I hear more screaming coming from my left. And I look to my side to see a house that is lit on fire, and two men with huge guns walking away from it. A woman is running away from the scene, until one of the men shoot at her, and she falls flat on her face...dead. My mouth hangs open, who are these people? And why are they murdering innocent people?
Before I knew what I was doing, I find myself walking towards the girl who has been sobbing over her dead parents. She notices my presence, and when she lets her eyes shift at me, she starts shivering and backs away immediately. "Please, don't hurt me." And then a fresh pair of tears trail down her pink cheeks. I kneel down infront of her, and extend my hand towards her. She looks at it in fear, as if I'm going to shoot her just like they shot her parents. "I'm not going to hurt you." She relaxes at my phrase, but doesn't keep her guard down. "What exactly happened here?" I ask, with a concerned tone in my voice.
Just by my question, she starts sobbing again. "Th-e old m-men wearing b-black, th-ey h-hurt my mom and d-dad. "
So it was them. Why would they do that to a family? Just break them apart and leave. "Do you know why they hurt them?" I ask.
She nods her head, and lets out a muffled "no".
"Hey, I see some of them over there!" I hear someone yell from behind me. And when I turn around, I see the men in black walking towards our direction. I can't let them kill this innocent child, no, not when I'm hear.
"Hey, listen to me, we have to run away, they're coming towards us, and if we don't hurry, they'll hurt us too." I speak with a gentle tone in my voice. "Please just trust me, I'll keep you safe,"
She looks at her parents and then back at me. She extends her hand, and holds it firmly against mine, and I help her stand up. She looks at her parents one last time, and another tear runs down her cheeks. "Mommy, daddy, I will always love you."
Just by looking at this makes my heart shatter. How could someone so cruel do this to a young girl? I snap out of it, once I hear footsteps getting closer.
