~~~SARAH JAY POV~~~~
Lunch rolls around. I knew it had to come eventually, but I'm not looking forward to it.
I wipe my tears, putting on a smile. A fake one, I might add. I finally leave the bathroom, and find Adam. He walks me to lunch, smiling happily. I look at him, and frown, but quickly turn away. I focus on the plastic grin on my face. He chats about schoolwork and afterschool clubs.
"Adam." I interrupt. He looks at me, signaling for me to go on. "We should go skydiving one day." I say. I say this because Asher had mentioned skydiving one day, and he had gotten me really excited about the idea. The idea of freedom and recklessness.
"Sarah, don't be silly! It's too big of a risk. A million of things could happen. The parachute could not work, you could get caught in a tree... The list trails on. Baby, don't be so unreasonable." Adam laugh, ruffling my hair. I look up at him, realizing how wrong my decision is, and I change it.
Just like that- I change it.
As I scoff, I say, "Adam, I don't think I want to date you anymore." And just like that, his smile drops. "What? But we just started up again..." Adam sounds hurt, but it's for the best. "I'm sorry. And we shouldn't really be friends anymore either." I admit. He frowns, and drops his hand from around my shoulder.
"Is this about Asher?" He asks accusingly. Yes. "No." I lie right to his face. "Yes." He catches me, "You dump me to be with him." Now, that, that he was wrong about. Well, sorta. "No." I say again, "Adam, you're sweet, nice, and perfect. But I don't like you anymore. And you can't fix it this time." I tell him, barely holding back a sob. He walks away from me, hurt across his face. He pushes people out of his way, trying to get away from me.
I go to lunch sadly, and for the first time in forever, I sit alone. The table usually occupied by Kayla, Adam, and a few of Kayla's other friends is now empty, except for me. Kayla keeps her distance from me, figuring that I'm mad at her, and her friends follow her. I look around the room to see Kayla with them at another table. And Adam is still nowhere to be seen.
I look down, my expression blank. I want to cry so bad that I currently have no one, but I can't. Because I did it to myself.
Someone sits down next to me, but I don't look to see who. Probably someone just as lonely who has nowhere else to sit.
A warm low giggle, a real giggle, makes its way to my ear. It's so familiar, my eyes widen. "So, you're still thinking about skydiving, huh?" Asher's voice asks. I look at him, and put the same fake plastic smile on again. I go to speak, "So you saw that?" He looks at me, confused. Before saying anything related he asks, "Why are you fake smiling? You know you don't have to." He rubs my cheek. He noticed, but my now Ex boyfriend didn't. I wipe the smile off my face and burst into tears, wrapping my arms around him and putting my face into his shirt. I don't care if people look at me.
He wraps his arms around me, too, and I hear the whispers and feel the eyes. The whispers about me as they see it now cheating on my ex and about a bad boy going soft. He doesn't seem to care either, surprisingly.
After I finish crying, I wipe my tears and apologize profusely about being a jerk and his now wet shirt. He chuckles, "It's okay, but I got to admit, you hurt me, Jay. Between calling me a typical bad boy and saying that I can't love." I apologize some more and than I mutter, "I chose you." I pray that he didn't hear it, as I was just saying it to myself, but he did. "And over anything and anyone , I will always choose you." he whispers in my ear, his hug around me tightening. He knows exactly what I meant, and his breath felt nice near my neck.
  I go home on his now fixed motorcycle since Adam left without me. He comes home with me to hang out. I enter my house, greet my mom, and then we head to my room.
   We lay next to each other on my bed, both of us staring at the ceiling. We've been doing that a lot lately. We're playing a game of 21 questions.
   I finally get up the courage to ask him as I bite my lip. "You said something last night. So my question is.. What did the cuddle we don't speak of mean to you?" I ask as I turn to him. His eyes go wide, and looks nervous. "Friendship.." He says awkwardly, but looking at him, I know he's lying. It means much more to him, I can see it, but I don't point it out.
  "What happened with your dad?" He asks curiously, "This questions optional." I nod, biting my lip more, tears already streaming down my cheeks.
   I turn to him and say, "H-he-he ch-cheated on my m-mom d-daily and t-then he left t-to b-be free to p-play any girl he w-wants. Left five y-years ago." He nods quietly, wiping the tears from my face. "Oh, my SarBear." He groans and he rolls me over so that one of his arms is under me and his other is over me, sorta of like hugging but more like holding. He brushes my hair out of my face. "Anyone who would abandon you is an idiot." Asher whispers as he kisses my forehead to comfort me. "Thanks, Ash." I cry into his chest.
   I flutter open my eyes, surprised that my alarm didn't go off. Ash is next to me, and my head is in his chest. He's sleeping, with his arm around my shoulder. I smile, turning to the clock. 6:01
   I woke up too early for my alarm. I snuggle into him, and silently thank my mother for letting boys stay over as long as the door is open.
The alarm goes off, I'm still awake, just laying down. I get up, and Asher's eyes open as well. The biggest and realest smile spread across his face as he sees me.
   "What are you smiling at?" I laugh as I brush my hair. "You." He states. I roll my eyes. "Get out, you can get you and I breakfast from the kitchen while I change. I'll take an apple." I say. "Go ahead, change. I'm not stopping you." he smirks. I roll my eyes, going to change in the bathroom, but my mom's showering. Shoot.
   "Get out." I go back into my room, saying again. "I'll have to decline your offer, but thank you." Ash smirks, sprawled out on my bed. He's looking at me, amused. I sigh and give up, realizing I'm wasting time. I close my door so my mom doesn't see me changing in front of a boy.
   I pick out denim capris  and a tee shirt, and as I pull out my white vans, Asher says, "Damn Daniel." I laugh as I go to change. I blush crazily.
   I stand in the corner, so that he doesn't see much as I take off my shirt and put on my bra. I then put on my red tee shirt. When I take off my pants, I'm really embarrassed but I deal as I put on my capris.
    Slipping on my white vans, I spin around to see Ash super close behind me, his hot breath on my neck. I face goes even redder as he smirks. I quickly go to walk away, but he blocks me. I expect him to call me sexy or something like usual, but instead he mutters, "Damn Daniel." Then lets me walk away.
  I go downstairs and he follows. I hand him an apple as I eat one. Afterwards, I brush my teeth, put in new contacts and grab my bag.
   "I didn't know you wore contacts." Ash states, following after me as I rush out the door, realizing I'm late. "You saw me before with glasses, doofus." I laugh. "I thought they were those stupid fake glasses." He chuckles. I roll my eyes, "No." "You look pretty with glasses." Asher smiles at me. "Thanks." I reply, "I know." We drive away in my car. I didn't know, and it made my heart swell. Then I realize...
God, his cockiness is rubbing off on me.
