We are currently sat down at dinner with me, Jarred, Danny, my parents, and Grandma May. I think to say it was awkward would be a understatement. My Grandmother is starting daggers at my parents and Jarred, while everyone else is either picking at their plate of food or pretending to have to use the bathroom to escape this.

Danny decides to break the ice and start small talk, "so Grandma how was your flight"

"It was wonderful, except for the part when I got off the plane and witnessed the unholiness of my granddaughter with 4 young men" she says with distaste and added a little yell when she finished her sentence

"It wasn't a big deal they are my friends" I lie I mean Jarred is my friend the other ones I never really talked to apart from today.

"Pft. Not a big deal you let your daughter hang around boys like that, it was disgusting they had tattoos all over their bodies."

"Enough mother, I don't need you telling me how to raise my children, every time you come here you never say anything good to my children and you disrespect me and my wife. If you do not like the way I raise my children keep it to yourself because your way is not always the right way" my dad stated

The whole room was silent. Everyone shocked at what just came out of my dads mouth. He never spoke back to his mother. I do a little happy dance inside knowing that she would finally stop bothering us, but I felt a little guilty as I watched her shock expression turn to hurt. I mean as much as I hate her beliefs I still love her dearly.

"I'm sorry, son if you'll excuse me I'm going to hit the hay, I'll see you all in the morning" she chokes out. "I'm truly sorry I was only trying to help you, no harm meant" and with that she pushes her chair out, places the napkin that was on her lap on the table and heads for her room

I instantly see my dad sigh and get up to go talk to her." It's okay I got it dad" I say and make my way to my grandmothers room

I knock on the door but when nobody answers I walk in and I see my grandmother lying on her bed facing the wall.

"Grandma" no one answered

"Grandma please talk to me" I plea

She turns around in her bed so she is now facing me "Shelley I'm not mad at you I'm just...A little baffled at the fact that your parents would allow you to hang around four boys with the monstrosities that they had on their bodies" she says as if picturing them in her mind she shivers

I climb into bed with my grandma "well you know it's not always what's on the outside. If you get to know them you'll find that these are some of the nicest people in the world and they All have been through a lot, we have no right to judge based on their looks."

"Since when did you become so wise?" My grandma says with a chuckle

"I don't know ...it was weird, but come on let's go back out there and get some dessert" I say while getting up off the bed

"Okay"

We make our way back to find them all seated in the living room. Emedietley my dad shoots up and goes to hug his mom while my mom trails behind

I take a seat in the middle of Danny and Jarred and sigh. It wasn't very comfortable so I rest my head on Jarred and place my feet on Danny.

"Why must you always put your feet on me" Danny complains while trying to push me away

"Because you are my brother and you love me so you slave over me" I reply with a cheeky smile
