Anabelle and I walked towards the studio early in the morning. Veronica wanted every one to be in class at six. People laid on the floor, using their bags as pillow. Veronica must have been really angry. I was tieing my pointe shoes when Veronica walked in. She was dressed in a long pink skirt that stopped above her ankles. Her floral blouse hung loosely on her. She looked very happy, which was odd.
"Morning class. I want to announce that the production for this years production is Swan Lake."
People stayed quiet in case Veronica decided to blow up, but she never did.
"Auditions will be held in mid November. Now, you'll audition in pairs. Your goal is to practice outside of class and present it on auditions."
Every one nodded, making Veronica pleased.
"Now get up and start your warm up excersises."
People silently got up and pushed their belongings to the side. We all held on the bars and began our exercises. Veronica walked and observed us.
"First position. Second position. Third position..."
It was almost the end of class and every one was tired and sweating. I began to feel a blister forming on my foot. Class wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Veronica looked amused and gently sat down on a chair.
"Your ticket out of those doors is to pirouette as many times you can."
People smiled and formed rows. All of us were waiting for Veronica to tells us to begin.
"Begin..."
Everyone began pirouetting. One by one, people lost control and fell. Pirouetting was my strongest point and I kept going. Veronica looked at me with wide eyes as I kept spinning.
"That's enough Dania," Veronica ordered.
I stopped and nodded. She dismissed class, every one quickly walked out. Class wasn't scary, but the work load was intense. Each time I moved my foot, I felt a sharp pain. Veronica noticed that I was hurt, she walked as fast as she could towards me.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
"Yeah, I think I formed a blister..."
"Let me check," she insisted.
I quickly took off my pointe shoe and my tights were stained with blood. Veronica nodded and I put my shoe back.
"Don't try out..." she whispered.
"Why not?" I arched an eyebrow and waited for her respond.
"I just think you are no good Dania. Why waste my time..." she explained, looking me in straught in the eye, "I think the production needs someone better... if you know what I mean."
I looked at Veronica in disbelief. She wasn't being serious? Her narrowed eyebrows and the scowl planted on her face, said otherwise. I didn't know what to tell her, I was shocked and furious.
"Wh-why are you saying that?" I asked.
"I'm telling you the truth."
I got my bag and stood up, "You're crazy! I thought I was insane for thinking you hated me... but this just proves you do hate me! I don't even know why!"
"I'm not crazy!" she yelled.
"Whatever Miss de Luc..." I started making my way towards the door, "I'm still trying out. I don't care if you say otherwise."
I walked out, not looking behind. I was too angry. Veronica was a complete psycho! Since day one, I felt her stares. The way she looked at me, the hatred. I thought I was going insane, and discarded the posibility. But now... it all made sense.
Ezra saw me and I walked passed him, not bothering to look his way. I.was beyond angry right now and all I wanted to do was find a plan to prove Veronica de Luc wrong.
