I waved good bye to Ezra right after being dismissed from class and headed straight to Veronica's office. My mind started to wonder the possible things she would say to me as soon as I opened her office door. I wasn't afraid of Veronica, but it still annoyed me that she was acting hostile towards me for an unexplainable reason. Vronsky did say that she might be envious, but why would she? Veronica was and still is one of the most powerful and influencial ballerinas in the world of ballet.
I didn't realize that I was already in front of Veronica's office; I quickly cleared my throat and knocked softly.
"Come in," she ordered.
I slowly opened the door and began to take a look. The office looked quite the same since my last visit. Only this time, there weren't objects being thrown at. Veronica patiently waited for me to be seated. I took a seat in front Veronica's glass desk and placed my bag down.
Veronica sighed and looked out towards the window, "Miss D'giovanni... the reason why I called you in here is pretty clear."
"Is it because I went out to coffee with Vronksy?"
"Yes," she began, "Going out of school property without permission is against the rules; and with Dimtry Alexei Vronsky of all people. Coming back late at night is also against the rules Miss D'giovanni."
"I know Head Mistress and it won't happen again."
Veronica chuckled with sarcasm, "Of course it won't happen... As your punishment you are not allowed to audition for my production."
At that moment, I felt my body go stiff and saw a satisfied smirk plastered on Veronica's face.
"Don't be surprised Dania. You broke the school rules and you have to pay the consequences."
"Isn't that too harsh Head Mistress?" my voice began to sound shaky.
"Why would I give someone the opportunity to perform in front of important ballet companies, if they can't obey rules, Miss D'giovanni," Veronica started to get up towards the door,"Now get out of my office."
"What about Ezra? He needs a partner!"
"Ah yes, you're still going to be his partner. Now get out of my office Miss D'giovanni."
I quickly picked up my bag and marched out of her office. You're not allowed to audition for my producton. Veronica's words echoed inside my head. She knew that this production was very important to me. She knew this is my time to either "make it or break it" moment and completely ruined it. Mixed emotions rush throughout my body. Unshed tears threaten to fall down my cheeks. While bubbling rage made me want to break something at that very moment. I stopped and saw a portrait of one of Veronica's productions. She looked to elegant and graceful as she was leaping in the air. I quickly yanked the enormous portrait and smashed it on the floor. At that very moment I decided I was going to audition for that production.
"To hell with Veronica de Luc..."
