Chapter 9-Oct 10, 2013 Thursday Morning
I woke to the sound of my phone buzzing on my desk. I reached for it, finding it a bit too far. I carefully pushed myself to near the edge and leaned as I reached. My fingers brushed it as I rolled straight off my bed and onto the hard floor.
The noise brought my sister flying into my room. “Sam! Are you okay?” she asked as she helped me flip onto my back before pulling me to sitting.
“Yea…I’m just dandy…” I groaned as I turned my upper body to face my bed, reaching up to press into the mattress. I pushed up, struggling to get my body high enough. My sister grabbed around my waist and helped me onto the bed, face down. I flipped over and just laid there with tears in my eyes.
“You sure that you’re okay?” she asked as she watched me.
“Yea…just fine…” I sighed as I sat up; then I pushed myself backward, touching my back against the head-board.
“How did you fall off?” she inquired as she sat beside me, leaning against my right arm.
“I was trying to reach my cell,” I answered sadly as I stared at my legs.
“O…” She got up, grabbed it, and settled down beside me again. “Here,” she said with a cute smile.
“Thanks,” I replied before pecking her cheek. “You’re a good sis.” I flipped open my cell and saw two more texts.
Sam, r u home? Can I come over? Leana…
Sweetheart, everything okay? Please reply. Can I come over?..
“Well, who are you gonna to invite over?” Bekka asked as she stared at my cell.
“No one,” I replied as I pressed the power button, shutting it off. “Can you move my chair over?”
“Sure,” she giggled as she hurried over to the end of the bed and moved it closer to the side.
I spun so my back was too the chair and pushed back, falling onto the chair. Luckily was behind to keep my wheelchair from flying into the wall. “Maybe not the best idea,” I laughed as I slowly moved my legs into the right place.
“Guess so,” she chuckled as she pulled me back away from the bed and turned me toward the door. “Where to Captain?”
“Living room!” I yelled as I threw my fist in the air.
