HISTORY CLASSROOM

"A) Every human being is a unique collection of atoms. B) Some of you in this room might be human beings. C) When you mess with atoms or human beings, they blow up," Matthews starts with his lesson. Farkle stands and shouts.

"Belgium, 1831!"

"Okay everyone, it's happening right now. Everyone under your desk. Farkle's gonna blow." I bit my lip, things had been sorta awkward between Farkle and I since I broke up with him. I never gave him an explanation, but I know it's for the best. We're still friends and that's how it needs to be right now. I need to understand myself before I can even begin to understand myself in a relationship.

"I know everything except Belgium 1831, and once I know that I'll know everything, and then my name goes on the board with those three idiots." He points to the board which has the word 'Genius' written across it with the names of famous nerds such as Einstein.

"Breathe, Farkle," Riley reminds the genius boy.

"Too late. I taste blue," Farkle faints.

"You know, with anybody else, that would've been strange," I say.

"Yeah, but with Farkle, we don't even lift him off the floor anymore," Maya smirks just as the guidance counselor, Miss Oden, walks in. I hope she isn't coming to give me my test results. She and I have gotten pretty acquainted since she told me I'd need to be tested due to my genius status. I still haven't told any of my friends, not even Lucas knows.

"Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Matthews. I'm here to see Farkle Minkus."

"Farkle, Guidance Counselor."

"Well, it's about time."

"Are you finally taking him away?" Riley asks.

"Because if he goes, we all go. There are no secrets in our group," Maya says. The bell rings and we all scramble, leaving Farkle, our teacher, and our guidance counselor.

When someone scores this high, the experts usually want to confirm the testing," Ms. Oden said.

"And then more specialized schools with gifted programs like Einstein Academy might approach you." as we wait outside Riley starts talking.

"Now Farkle says-"

"I'd never leave my friends behind," he said right on cue.

"One more thing, Farkle. It's important not to react to your score in any way that might make your friends feel-"

"Inferior? Of less value? Like dumb-dumbs." I'm honestly a little hurt he'd call us those things. I mean, I know I haven't told them, but does that give him the right to make me feel so stupid?

"We're talking about my daughter," Matthews reminds Farkle.

"Whose fault is that?"

TOPANGA'S CAFE

Simplicity, that's how I decided to go to Farkle's party. A nice black shirt and gray skirt are all I need. We sit in the cafe, as Maya and Farkle chit chat.

"Maya, when I rule the world, I'll give you half because you're my lovely fake wife," oh yeah, Maya and Farkle got fake married, she fell in love with his mother's ring. I didn't say anything, I mean he has to discover himself, and who am I to be jealous... and yet I am jealous.

"Hey, I want some of that!" Riley shouts, okay clearly these two are forgetting I use to date Farkle literally until last week. Guess sisters before misters is out the window.

"Yeah, Farkle, you love them equally. Marry them both. Wouldn't that be the genius thing to do?" I sigh, deciding to pretend like everything's perfectly perfect.
