7. Happy Birthday! It's a Yes!

"Thank you so much Draco. I can't believe you did so much for me. Thank you." She said.

"I would do more than this if there weren't any restrictions on the time limit and people. But I'm happy you like it. Did I tell you that you look amazing today?" he smirked his signature smirk.

She laughed. "Yes you have Draco. This is probably the 10th or 11th time I would be listening this from you. Aren't you tired by complimenting my appearance today?" She asked him with a small smile which occasionally turned into a smirk and back.

"I will never be tired to complement your beauty. I will continue to do it for the rest of my life without one drop of tiredness." he mentally smacked himself for letting that slip. That should have been saved for later. He then realised George hadn't made himself seen. Where was he? Hermione remained silent while he was scrating his neck and avoiding eye contact. She chose not to comment on it but she knew he had feelings for her. Just her 'girl instincts'.

Draco suddenly saw a flash of red hair behind the tree. He motioned for Hermione to be silent and pulled her away with him to the tree. Hermione was surprised to see George crouching behind the tree. She stealthily went towards him and patted his shoulder from behind. George was alarmed. He let out a weird sound probably out of fear sounding like a girly yelp. He relaxed a bit once he saw Hermione who was looking confused and a smirking Draco.

"George, what are you doing here?" Hermione asked him.

"Uh..uhm.. I came here because Draco called me. He wanted my help. By the way, how are you my little brainbox?" George asked as he pulled Hermione in for a hug. Hermione hugged him back tightly. Her eyes welled up again for no specific reason. Thank Merlin she remembered to put the smudge proof charm on her makeup.

She cried into the fabric of his jacket. "I missed you Georgie. Did you meet Ginny? She might be waiting for you." She pulled herself together quickly and pulled Draco's as well as George's arm towards the table where Ginny and Harry were sitting after non-stop dancing.

"Hi George. How are you?" Harry asked while Ginny hugged her brother. All of them just sat down and chatted. Soon Draco realised that he had just 2 minutes before midnight. He excuse himself and George from them and they revised their plan.

Draco cleared the dance floor apologising to the still dancing couples. George went behind the same tree and started working on their plan. Draco then dragged the birthday cake and called Hermione over. She was just watching everything as though she was in some kind of trance but there was a constant smile on her beautiful face. He checked his watch and he had only 10 seconds. George waved his wand and Fireworks started in the air and the countdown began. Everybody clapped and whistled.

"3, 2, 1 HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERMIONE!" everybody read the fireworks with a shout out. Hermione turned towards Draco and mouthed a quiet thank you over the noise in the background with tears in her eyes. Draco wiped those tears and gestured for her to cut the cake. She obeyed happily. This was probably the best birthday bash she had had in her life.

Everybody sang the song wishing her a very happy birthday.

She blew the candles off and took Draco's hand in hers and then the knife. They both together cut the big Four tier cake with beautiful designs on it.

She put the first piece of cake in Draco's mouth and Draco too fed her by putting a small piece of cake in her mouth. Everybody followed them, feeding Hermione and then each other. After the cake cutting, his proposal was planned.
