25. Violent Siblings

Hermione went back to her room after leaving Narcissa and Lucius alone. She waited for Draco to return as she wanted to tell him so many things. She wheeled herself by tugging her hands on the wheels to the balcony that gave a beautiful view of the waterfall and lake. There were beautiful white peacocks roaming the backyards.

It always surprised her how so many things were there in the Manor. She could also see a large graveyard at the far end of the backyard. It's was a so called 'Malfoy Graves'. This sight reminded her of her dead parents.

She missed her parents so much. She didn't realise that she had zoned out in their memories until she felt Draco wiping away her tears with a warm smile on his handsome face. She jumped when she snapped back into her senses. Draco chuckled a bit.

"Thinking about your mom and dad?" Draco asked sweetly. She nodded slowly.

"I miss them. They were innocent. Why do people kill innocent ones? They didn't deserve such a painful death. They weren't even able to attend our wedding. Dad had so many plans about my marriage. He used to be so excited at the mere thought of it. They didn't have to die! I wish I had them by my side!" She said and again started crying. The most expected thing. Draco didn't say anything but he hugged her and let her cry on his shoulder.

Even he had a few questions as to why did his aunt and uncle kill Hermione's parents? They disliked Hermione? They would harm her again once they were at the Manor in the evening? So many questions! For now, only one thing mattered to him. His Hermione. Her safety and well-being were his only priorities. He decided that he would keep her safe and protected when aunt Aria and uncle Stefano would come in the evening. He didn't trust them completely seeing what they had done to Hermione. Why did they have to do this? Why her? He was going to ask them someday.

Hermione slowly pulled back and wiped her own tears.
"I am sorry I spoiled your shirt." She said clearly embarrassed. He laughed at the look on her face.

"You seriously think I am bothered about my shirt? Really? Stupid girl. I think my shirt is lucky to be able to hold your tears. I couldn't do it but my shirt wiped your tears. I am jealous!" Draco said mocking a teenage girl. Hermione laughed listening to the useless things he just said. Surely he was the only one who could make her smile even when she was crying. They both kissed each other and Draco then carried her back to bed. They lay down beside each other.

"You were going to tell me something, love?" Draco asked looking into her warm chocolate brown eyes. She nodded slowly. "I am listening." Draco said.

Hermione sighed and then told him everything that she had told Narcissa and what Narcissa had told her. She was careful as to not let slip some sensitive points which would probably hurt Draco. She didn't know why but she couldn't keep secrets from him. Maybe it was now a habit of hers to tell him every small and silly thing. Even he did the same thing so it was fair enough to tell him. Draco was smiling all the time during her speech. He was very happy for Hermione.

He then told her about what Lucius told him. Hermione gasped a few times and panicked when he told that Aria and Stefano would be coming to the Manor in the evening. Draco assured her that he would keep her safe behind his shield. Nobody would be able to touch her in his presence. She smiled at his protective nature and kissed him. She was a bit relieved but also angry as her parents were killed by them.

The murderers of her parents were coming where she was. She had the opportunity to take revenge but being the all forgiving Hermione Granger, she dropped the idea of revenge. She had faith in the supreme powers. She believed that whatever happens, it's for a good cause. She convinced herself that they have been taken away from her for a reason. Maybe it is to strengthen her to endure probable separations. Whatever may be the reasons, the reality was bitter. She had lost her parents.
