Chapter 9

"I wanna get a kitty." I squeaked.

"A cat?" Max returned.

I nodded vigorously. "Now!" I yelped.

"Okay, hold on." Max went back in his house to retrieve something.

He came back and closed his door. "There's a pet shop nearby."

"K."

"It's weird of you to come to my house and say you want a cat. No context, just, 'I wanna kitty!'." Max chuckled.

"No context is needed when you want a cat." I answered with a shrug. 

When we arrived at the shop, the clerk looked at the both of us and I shuddered happily.

"What are you guys getting, cat, or dog?" They asked.

"They want a cat." Max said for me.

I was ten seconds from squeaking again. The clerk led us to a room filled with cats and I almost screamed with excitement.

"They're all so cute..." I said lowly.

"Want me to get one." Max asked. "I'm not the only one who knows you would spend an hour just trying to pick one."

"Well, you better hurry, or these cats will all be mine." I said quickly.

Max laughed then walked off, returning only a few moments later with a smol grey fur-ball in his hands.

"Is this good?" He asked me.

I snatched it from him and whispered, "mine."

"This is the one." Max said to the clerk.

"Let me just have you sign some papers and pay." The clerk answered.

We all left the room, me still holding the cat. We then filled out the papers and gave the clerk money. I left the name spot blank, it was too hard to give it a name. The clerk didn't say anything and we left, taking the cat back to my house.

I opened my door, giving the cat to Max before hand. Then I closed the door behind us and he let the cat down.

"What are you gonna name it?" He asked me.

I shrugged. "I don't really know."
