September 21, 1849. Time: 10:09am.

With all of the cold weather that week, it was nice to have one day of Luke warm air. That morning, bonnie awoke Caroline and Selena to teach them the rules of looking after a kingdom. Excluding Anna, because she needed her sleep, all of the other ladies in the castle decided to tag along just for fun. She invited them all out into the garden to give them a "future Queen" lesson, so to speak. She was teaching them all about what to expect as a princess. How to address a crowd, how to present yourself, even how to sit. "One must sit down, backs straight, and feet crossed at the ankles." Bonnie told them. The ladies, all sitting in a row of chairs, did exactly as she told. "Shoulders down and back." Bonnie continued, walking around the chairs. "And the hands placed inside the lap. Folded!" She corrected. While she was speaking, Caroline turned to Selena. "Have you spoken to harry yet?" She asked in a whisper. "No, I've hadn't gotten the chance to yet. But when I woke up this morning, there was Tithonias lying on the pillow beside me." Selena told her.

"Flowers? He left you flowers? Tithonias Don't even grow down here anymore, wonder where he got them." Selena, like she didn't hear Caroline speak at all, continued in a daze-like voice, with a smile creeping up on her face. "....they were orange."

"Pardon me?"

"They were orange, the flowers. That's his favourite color." She said with a cheesy grin. "My god. You Don't even care that you will eventually have to turn for him, you're going to wed him regardless, aren't you?" Caroline asked. "Chin up." Bonnie told them as she walked past. Selena knew Caroline would be upset with her if she told her yes, but Selena was getting fed up with not able to say what she felt for fear of hurting someone else's feelings. That was not who she was, she had always been an outspoken girl, even as a child. So why change now? "To make the choice to give up mortal life for a man made up of such sins, than there must be a strong connection, a strong attraction, a strong love. And there is. I love him Caroline, and if he asked me to give up the direct sunlight for him, I would. So to answer your question, yes. Yes, I would still marry him. And I will marry him." She told her. And as she stared straight ahead at bonnie, she felt proud. Somewhere during her little speech She felt like herself again, someone who always stood up for what she felt was right. And yet, as she praised herself, She could feel Caroline's eyes on her. Burning into her. "....making sure you have direct eye contact with whoever you're addressing." Bonnie said, still teaching them the rules. Selena turned to face her. "What's the matter?" She asked. Caroline seemed more like she was lost in a thought then anything else. "Do you..really feel that way? About marrying him?" She asked. Selena, still not sure what was really the matter with her, answered. "Yes. Yes I do." Suddenly, Caroline's face turned darker. "Then I feel sorry for you." She told her. She got up out of her chair, and started to descend into the castle. "Caroline! Where are you going? I'm not finished!" Bonnie called out. "My apologies bonnie, do forgive me. I, all of a sudden, Don't feel so well." Was the last thing she said before entering the patio doors, out of the garden. The light shined though the open windows in the castle. The sounds of her shoes echoing throughout the halls, letting her know she was alone...or was she? She turned down the corridor and suddenly felt a change in the atmosphere. Like one moment you're just walking though the hallways, hearing the birds chirping from the outside, then in the next moment, it feels as if you've just stepped into a plastic bag. No sounds. No oxygen. No presence from anything, but there was a presence. There, in the hall with her, it was the only thing signifying time hadn't actually stopped. She turned around. Down at the end of the hall was a window, a beautiful big bay window, and standing right in front of it was the Oni. The sun shining high in the sky gave the thing an outline that one would expect of a Angel. Blackness, that's what she saw when she looked at it. But the feelings coming from it were something else. It would make the hairs on your body stand up just looking at it. She stepped back and it took two steps closer, she took another step back and it took five steps to her. Her heart was beating so loud, she could hear it in her ears. Dare she take another step back? She could hear the thing breathing, and once again, it started to take the shape of a human. the arms, the legs, the outline of the head, and it was walking towards her. There was no more taking a step or two back, she just turned and ran. As she picked her dress up and took off down the hall, she looked behind her and seen that the Oni had not moved from it's place by the window. She took it as a opportunity and picked up her speed. She rounded the corridor, almost slipping in doing so, and came face to face with the Oni. Even though the air had left her lungs from all the running, she held her breath when she bumped into the thing. At first it just stood here, watching her back away from it, then the next thing she knew was she couldn't breathe, and it wasn't from all the running. It was because the Oni had it's black shadowy hands around her neck. She couldn't yell out, she couldn't move. But then something happened, something incredible and terrifying happened. The Oni talked. "I thought I told you to stay away from Niklaus Mikaelson." It said. The very voice of the thing sent chills down her spine. It had a scratchy, raspy tone it it. The first thing that came to mind was someone who had throat cancer. Caroline was clawing at the hands around her neck. "Didn't I tell you to leave him alone!? Didn't I?!" The thing yelled. It let go of her neck a little just to hear her response. "You n-never told me...anything!" She manage to get out. "But I did, pretty girl. Don't you remember? In the dream, with your whore of a mother!" The Oni said, with its hoarse voice. It suddenly all became clear to Caroline, that dream she had, after the whole "Kol's torturing game". She had a dream where her mother told her that Niklaus murdered her. She always felt funny about it, but because that was the first time her mum ever visited her in a dream, she believed every word of it. in now knowing that it wasn't her mother she was talking too, it was this Evil thing, Caroline, with tears in her eyes, said "my God..."
