Chapter 17: Mum?

OLIVIA BLOOM...

We were now back in Croatia. We needed to get back and re-evaluate everything. We were thinking about Primrose Rectory, but none of us wanted to go there, there was something eery about this. Someone had clearly stolen identities, but it was personal to me. Why would it be a coincidence that they would steal my mother's when I live just a few roads down? I hadn't seen Duncan yet but I was going to, and this time Cate could torture the bastard as much as she liked. Nothing is making sense, less so than before.

We got to the house and the three of us just walked in and sat on the sofa, whilst Evelyn, mum and Mitty just looked at us.

"What's happened?" my mum asked.

...

"Is everything alright?" Mitty spoke.

"We don't understand how this can be possible" Cate said and handed Evelyn some of the papers we found. Evelyn looked through them.

"Someone has clearly been using her details...right?" She asked.

"Coincidently, that house is down the road from me" I said.

"Which house?" my mum asked.

"Primrose Rectory" I answered, "You know who lives there?" I asked her.

"No, never seen anyone come out or go in there, only delivery people" she said back.

"Why didn't you go to the house then?" Mitty asked. That was a question we didn't want to answer, we were too scared.

"You were too scared of what you would find" Evelyn said.

"More like who we would find" Cate said.

"I am going to keep an eye of that house, anything that goes in there, I will be able to see" Evelyn spoke and we all agreed that we needed to take a break from everything.

"What about Duncan?" I asked.

"You want to talk to him?" my mum asked. I nodded and me and Cate went through to were they were keeping him.

"Hello Olivia" he said.

"You can do what you like to him" I whispered at Cate, she looked at me and nodded.

"You got me good, didn't think you were with anyone, just thought you had done a runner" he smiled.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I asked. No answer. "Why are you doing this?". Again  no answer. Cate came from the corner with a towel, and a jug of water. Elle and Evelyn walked in on cue. They tilted him back in the chair, placed the towel over him and poured water on his mouth. This time, I didn't care that an interrogation was happening, and I was the one who set it off. This bastard had killed Kale, Lisa and so many others. They pushed him forward, he was choking.

"Answer her questions" Evelyn said.

"Why do you assume that I have the tech?" I asked. The shit bag answered then.

"Perhaps you don't know where it is but you are a good asset to have, but you are also a risk to all of us" he answered.

"A risk? I'm 18 years old" I answered.

"Maybe, but your parents had assets, the technology, we want it, we will stop at nothing to get it Olivia" He said, I shook my head, I started to walk out, I turned.

"Again" and I flipped my hand up so they knew what I meant, and they proceeded to pour water again. I walked out.

Cate, Elle, Evelyn and lastly Mitty stayed in there with him for a while. I was now out sitting with my mum on the porch.
