Chapter 2

I sit there looking at the ring when my mom taps my shoulder. "Lilly, are you ok hon?" I wipe my face and realize I'm still crying. "Yea mom, I'm fine." I sit up straight and put my hair behind my ear. I lay down to take a nap.

*A few hours later

A buzz comes from my pocket waking me up. I'm getting a call from Anthony. "Hey, wassup?" I say groggily into the phone. "You sound tired babe, I called to say I miss you." I can hear the smile in his voice. "I miss you to ba-" I'm cut off by my mom. "Come on Lilly, it's a rest stop."

"Bye Anthony talk to you later."I say stepping out of the car. "See you later Lil." He says back into the phone.

We walk into the gas station. I use the toilet, and when I step out I bump into someone. "Oh sorry.'' I mutter looking up at the angelic face staring at me. "Sorry." His eyes are the bluest blue I have ever seen and his shaggy blonde hair is perfect.

He reaches his hand out to help me up. "I'm Ethan, and you?" I'm still in a trance by his eyes but I answer, "Im Lillian." "Well, Lillian. Welcome to California." He purchased a pack of gum and left. We're already in California?

Ethan's P.O.V.

The girl from the gas station was pretty cute. Her dusty gray eyes were beautiful. I know Abigail wouldn't like her. I climbed in my car with Abbie sitting there filing her nails.

"Hi baby." She starts kissing my lips vigorously. She digs her fake nails into my back. The pain stings but not to badly. She gets up to fix her hair and makeup.

I drove her to her house. "Bye Abbie." "Bye." She gets out and starts walking to her front door. I start driving to my house, in the same neighbor hood as Abbie. When I pull up to my house, there's a car parked in the house next to mine that's been vacant since 5 months ago. The back door opened and Lillian walked out.

Lillian's P.O.V.

I step onto the pavement admiring the car of the next door neighbor. The drivers door opens and the beautiful boy from the gas station is standing there. He smiles and his smile stops time. It's dazzling in every which way. I smile back and he walks over.

"Hey gas station girl." I laugh. "So, you're moving in next door huh?" He pushes a strand of hair behind my ear. I blush. "Yea, I came hear from Montana." Are you serious Lillian. You're such a loser.

"Really, my girlfriend moved here 4 years ago from Montana." Damn, he has a girlfriend. "Cool" "Hey Lillian, wanna piece of gum?" He pulls the pack of gum I saw him buy at the gas station out of his pants pocket. I take a piece and stick it in my mouth. "Hey Lillian, what school are you going to?" I take my phone out of my pocket to look at my school's name because I forgot. "Um Seadworth High." A big grin spreads across his perfect face. "Awesome, I go there. Maybe I could show you around." "Lillian, come inside please." My dad calls from inside.

"Talk to you later Lil." Ethan turns around and walks back to his house

not before waving to me. Butterflies start fluttering in my stomach. I think I'm in love with Eth-, my phone starts to buzz I'm my pocket. It's Anthony. Uh-Oh, Anthony. "Hello Anthony." He starts to laugh making me shiver all over. "Hey honey, wassup. I miss you so much." I feel bad. For what I don't know, but I do feel bad. "Um, what you call for?"

Ethan's front door opens and he steps out. He has no shirt on and I can't help but stare at his so sexy 6-pack. "I called to see if...." I don't hear the rest of what Anthony says. "Hey Lil, wanna come to the beach with me and a few of my buddies?" Ethan says smiling.

"Bye Anthony, gotta go." I hang up the conversation before he can say anything. "Yea. Let me go grab my bikini!" I yell to him at I run inside. I put on my yellow bikini that has stripes on it then place on some old basketball shorts and a loose fitting tee. Placing my bag full of sunscreen, lotion, and towel over my shoulder my I race downstairs placing my pink flip-flops on. "Bye mom,bye dad!"

I jump in Ethan's convertible and close the door. "Ready to go Lil?" I place my shades on my face. "Yea, ready."

Ethan pulls up to the beach and its beautiful. I turn around to Ethan, "Is your girlfriend gonna be here?" He chuckles, "Nope, she didn't want to come. But my friends brought their girlfriends." We both got out of the car. He grabs my bag and puts it over his shoulder. He puts his arm around my waist and pulls me close to him. I can smell his cologne. "Is this alright?" He asks. "Yes, it's fine." I snuggle into his side thinking I made it awkward, but he laughed and it vibrated through his body sending shivers down my back.

We make it to the edge of the beach where I see a group of guys and girls with them. "Yo, Ethan!" A guy comes up to us. He has reddish-brownish hair that sits beneath his chin with dark green eyes. "Hey Dev, this is Lillian." He looks down at me and smiles, "Hey girlie." He reaches his hand out to me and I shake his hand. We walk down to where everyone else is. "So Lillian," Devon starts, "this is my girlfriend Trixie." I look to the girl with bluish green eyes and dirty blonde hair. "Hey dude!" She comes up and wraps me in a hug then sits back down and pats the sand next to her motioning for me to sit down. I sit and she slaps this very attractive guys arm, "Hey Matt, this is Lillian." He turns to me and a smile lights up his face. He's gorgeous, his eyes are teal and his hair is shaggy and brown. "Well hello there Lilly." He embraces me in a hug.

Trixie laughs. "Sorry about Matthew, he's to gay to control." She laughs harder then she snorts. "Ha, you're someone to talk pig girl." Matthew says pushing Trixie with her pushing back. She lands on me making me stumble back. Someone catches me. I look up to see Ethan's familiar face looking down on me. "You ok Lil?" He picks me up placing me on his lap with me quickly scrambling off. He chuckles. "Ok so there's Sam, Greg, and Dakota." I look to see all the guys when my eyes fix onto the last boy. He has light brown hair, jade green eyes and beautiful lips. He smiles and waves. I wave back. Ethan picks me up and throws me over his back.

"Ethan!" I scream kicking the air and banging my fists on his back. He starts running to the beach. "Ok I'll put you down." He puts me in the cold water. "Ethan, what the hell?'' I climb out of the water, my shorts and half of my tee shirt drenched. I take them off. I walk over to Ethan and wring all the water from my clothes over his head. He jumps up and picks me up bridal style and puts me in the water again and this time he stays in and we swim around for a while until he pulls me close to him. "So um Lillian, how about you tell me about yourself." He held me tighter. My heart speeds up, and my hands got clammy. We were so close. Ethan was about Anthony's height, so he was pretty tall. "Um I grew up in a small town with my mom and dad and my three bestfriends." He looks me in my eyes and unexpectedly says, "You're so beautiful, you really are." We start to lean in ,my lips almost touching his lips when, "Hey, Lilly, mind if we come in?" Trixie jumps in and swims toward us with Matthew behind her.

Ethan lets go of me, "So, Lillian, tell me about your friends." "Lets see, two of my friends are twins and my other friend moved away 4 years ago and her name is Abigail."

Ethan pauses. He says barley above a whisper. "My girlfriend is Abigail,"
