Chapter 20 // Labor

A contraction hits as Luke drives through the traffic like a madman to the hospital. I'm not worried too much because it takes a while to be ten centimeters dilated. Plus this is only my first contraction and it's been twenty minutes since my water broke. But it usually takes fifteen minutes to get to the pack hospital, but training just ended two minutes ago because it's 6:17 pm so there's a lot of traffic.

"Luke, calm down babe. It's not going to be until like ten hours until the twins are born. I'm going to call mom and dad so just calm down" I say as my contraction ends
"Okay" he says taking a deep breathe. Then I scroll through my contacts and hit mom and dad.

ringggggg  ringggggggg  ringg-
"hello" mom says
"hi mom! How's Chase doing?" I ask
"Oh he's great! He's eating a peanut butter sandwich on the couch with his papa" she laughs
"Okay, I'm glad he's fine. I want to let you know that Luke and II will be at the hospital in about five minutes or so" I tell her
"oh and why's that sweetie?" she asks
"my water broke about twentyfive to thirty minutes ago" I say excitedly
"That's wonderful! Oh honey! Delilah's water broke!" I hear her tell dad
"Yay" I hear him cheer
"Can I talk to Chase?" I ask
"Of course" mom says. There's shuffling, but then I hear my big baby's voice
"hewwo mommy" Chase says through the phone
"Hi Chasey! Are you having fun a nana and papa's house?" I ask in a slight baby voice
"Yes!" he giggles "bwut I mwiss you and daddy" he says sounding like he's about to cry
"We miss you too, but next time daddy and I see you we'll have your little brother and sister out of my tummy" I say
"bruda and sista!" he cheers "can I wak to daddy?" he asks
"sure" I smile
"Chase wants to talk to you Luke" I say handing him the phone

I don't listen to what they're saying. I zone out. Scared actually. Twins are a lot of work plus having a two and a half year son, he's almost at his bratty stage. But I snap out of it when Luke is repeatedly saying my name. "we're here"" here he says. I nod my head and get out of the car.

Luke takes my hand and walks with me into the hospital. "Alpha Luke" the younger girl slightly bows "what can I do for you?" she asks while checking out his muscles
"My fiance heres water broke about thirty minutes ago" he says. The girl glares at me a little
"take a seat and we'll call you when we're ready" she says still glaring at me
"I'll be a minute" I whisper at Luke
"mmkay" he says and walks away to take a seat
"Oh honey, glare at me all you want. But remember. I am your Luna, the mother of the Alpha's three kids, well soon to be three, the Alpha's mate, and I've got the ring. So save your eye muscles and glare at some other chick that isn't me thank you very much" and with that I waddle away

When I sit next to Luke he chuckles at me "what?" I ask
"I listened in on your conversation" He says
"Hey she has no right to glare at me" I say
"I wasn't going to say anything. I thought it was pretty hot too" which makes me laugh

"Delilah" the nurse assistant says. Both me and Luke stands up and walks over. She leads us to an elevator and we go to the third floor and then to room number 316. "Nurse Michaels will be in shortly to check on you" she smiles and leaves

When I lay down on the bed my second contraction hits. Luke checks the time and they are currently thirty minutes apart. Thirty three to be exact.

A woman in probably her early thirties walks in. "Hello Alpha and Luna, I'm nurse Cheyenne Michaels" she slightly bows "I need to check you out and stuff and see how far you're dilated
"Okay" I say through gritted teeth
"Okay so you are currently four centimeters dilated" she smiles "and I've heard that you're having twins so I need to check if any of them might be breached meaning that you'll be needing to have a c-section" she says

She pulls out the ultrasound machine and puts the cold gel on my stomach. "You daughter and son aren't breached and they're healthy" she smiles then hooks me up to a machine and a bunch of other stuff.

❂❂❂seven hours later❂❂❂

"Hello Alpha and Luna, I'm nurse Alexis Martin and I'll be taking Nurse Michaels place because her shift ended" a woman say and I nod

She checks to see how dilated I am "okay, so you are seven centimeter dilated! You're so close! Do you know how far apart your contractions are?" Nurse Martin asks
"About ten minutes apart" I answer
"Okay so I'm going to give you you're epidural since your paper says you want one" she says

I lean forwards and she gives me the shot on my back and let me just tell you that it hurts.

❂❂❂one hour later❂❂❂

"You are finally ten centimeters dilated. When you feel the urge to push then push" she tells me

I soon feel the urge to push so I do just that. Luke is holding my hand and I probably crush it.  And I'm screaming on why he did this to me and that I'll never have unprotected sex but yea we know that that will never happen.

About thirty minutes into pushing nurse Martin tells me she sees the first head. Then five minutes late I hear an ear piercing scream. "It's a healthy baby boy" say the assistant. He was born at 3:25 am on June 10, 2016.

Seven minutes later another ear piercing scream entered the room. "And this is your healthy baby girl" the assistant says again. She was born at 3:32 am on June 10, 2016.

They're absolutely beautiful. Luke and I are both crying because we're so happy. I'm leaving later tonight if there's nothing wrong with the babies.

At 6:30 in the morning Margo, Shane, Lily, Chase, mom, and dad all come in. "You want to see your baby brother and sister Chase?" I asks him and he nods hi head excitingly

"We are naming them... Drum roll please..."
