It was a Monday, and apparently it didn't matter to Olivia that we had stayed up most of last night to help her get a boyfriend and bonding with her family, because she forced us out of bed anyways. I wasn't surprised like her daughters were, but it still took me a good half-hour longer than usual to get out of bed and ready for school. Not bothering to shower, I sprayed some dry shampoo at the roots and braided it back, pulling on a simple pair of jeans and Ryder's football jersey. After applying simple makeup, just enough to make me look less homeless, I headed upstairs and crashed on the couch, deciding to slip in a nap before school.
"Addie, do you mind taking these up for Emily?" Olivia interrupted me and I opened one eye to see her holding a couple pairs of shoes. "I'm running late but I promised I'd-"
"Say no more," I yawned, hauling myself off the couch as I took the shoes. "Good night?"
She blushed. "One of the best."
"Considering you have eight kids, that's saying something," I remarked, then squealed and dodged her swat as she gave a wordless little yelp and swung at me. Giggling, I winked at her and headed upstairs, leaving her blushing wordlessly in the front hall. Emily and Oliver were staying in his old room, and I knocked on Kasey's door as I passed, heading for the end of the hall.
"You up?"
"Piss off!"
Yup, she was awake. Shaking my head, I let the shoes swing from my fingers as I pushed open Oliver's door without knocking, knowing they would still be sleeping.
A little shriek corrected me and I jumped back, screaming back in answer. Oliver was completely, one hundred percent naked and lying on top of Emily, his body thankfully protecting my view of hers. Emily peered out at me from over his shoulder, face red and eyes wide.
"Good morning," she said.
I blinked at them for a moment, Oliver giving me a pointed look to get the hell out, then leaned against the frame. "What a good morning it is."
"Stop it," she muttered, blushing. She slid underneath Oliver again, hiding her face behind her hands, and I laughed as I held up the shoes. "You're lucky Olivia asked me to bring these up. She was going to do it herself - poor girl would have had a heart attack."
"That's great and all, but if you could get out, that'd be better," Oliver said, shooting me an annoyed look. I shrugged one shoulder, eyeing him when he looked away. There was a good reason that ass of his was famous. "Emily, will you pick me up for lunch? I'll skip last two periods."
"No, you won't," she countered. "Stay in class."
Oliver snorted. "Lame. What she means to stay is we're going to see Justin today and she'd rather be in my company than yours."
"Apparently she's been in your company all night, Oliver, so..."
He winked. "So she has. Get out."
I rolled my eyes at them. "Lock your damn door! Kailey's still home!"
"Sorry," Emily called as I flung the shoes at them, shaking my head. Caleb was just walking out of his room as I closed the door and he raised an eyebrow. "They're awake?"
"Very," I told him, leaving him to figure out what that meant. It took him a minute, but he realized it just as we reached the bottom of the stairs. "Gross!"
I grinned at his reaction. Caleb gave me an odd look out of the corner of his eye. "Why are you so calm at walking in on your sister and my brother?"
"Because this is about the fiftieth time I've done it. Oliver doesn't know how to use a lock," I explained, then rolled my eyes. "By this point I've seen everyone in the band naked, Caleb, and it's not like Em's a stranger. I toured with them, and I've walked in on Max and Zoe even more often than Em and Oliver. Justin left the bathroom door unlocked when he got in the shower, and Courtney and Jayden were...uh, busy, when I came home early from a lunch date."
