[Chapter 8]

I tried to make this as long as possible. Don't expect me to be able to make pages long of chapters since 2,000 words are 3 pages on Wattpad. So this is 7 pages on Microsoft is 4 pages on Wattpad.

No one answered my last question so I'm going to wait till you do.

*****

Evelyn made her way to breakfast alone. Sure she had made more friends but she was closest with Luna and Mackenzie. When she came into the dining hall, everyone was talking excitedly. Evelyn sat down in her usual seat with the third years and took a small portion of eggs and toast. She could hear some of the conversations from her fellow Gryffindors.

"...do you think...'?"

"...no way! He did?"

".Are you going...OMG, you didn't!"

She rolled her eyes. Obviously these over excited girls were talking about boys. Some people could be so immature. She noticed someone staring at her from the Slytherin table and turned to see who it was. A cute boy with jet black hair, brown eyes and a nice tall frame was looking at her with an expression of curiosity. The same boy she was paired up with during potions and the same boy that was the Chaser on the Slytherin team.

She raised her eyebrow at him and turned back around. Erik was no where to be seen and Luna and Mackenzie weren't up yet. She had taken a morning stroll this morning, hoping to get her thoughts off of a particularly handsome boy...

****

Later that evening, she went up to her dorm after a long day of classes. Erik had been avoiding her, to her friends' curiosity, and he wouldn't even speak to her after she caught up with him at the end of their training meetings. She was truly convinced she had just lost a friend or something even more.

She got the Dark Art books from under her bed and flipped through the pages. What she was looking for was something that would help her on her quest to controlling her powers. She had already zapped someone in the butt already and she wasn't taking the risk of anyone else getting suspicious about her. Her uncle hasn't even scheduled anything with her ever since the Erik thing. Ah, ha! She found it. What she was looking for was more information about the prophecy.

The page read-

The heir with the power of shadows,

death and beyond,

will lead us to the light.

And what was once dark,

Shall become bright one again.

She gasped. Her uncle hadn't said anything about LEADING anyone. And what was up with the power of dead and beyond, thing? She wasn't stupid, far from stupid. She was observant, calculative and thoughtful. She could tell that her uncle had been keeping things from her the first time he had spoken to her about the prophecy.

She got up and trudged down the hall to a certain Dark Arts professor.

*****

When she as calmly seated in the Dark Arts professor's room, he answered her questions.

"There have been some things I haven't told you about. I underestimated you and that has implanted some doubt inside of your mind. Your parents requested that you not be told about this ever since you got here." He said, taking a moment to let things sink in.

"What?" She hissed. She wasn't the type to raise her voice at any time she pleased. "You mean they've been lying to me for the past fifteen years."
