On a regular day they might be scattered throughout their little community, practicing or maintaining equipment. Today they all gathered at the picnic tables by the snack stand, waiting for Arthur and Matthew to return.

After enough time to make them all a bit restless, they heard the car drive up. They listen to the grass rustle under their feet before their fellow crew members appeared.

"So...?" Asked Alfred first.

"Well... we haven't lost her yet, but..."

"But vhat?" asked Gilbert, jumping up slightly.

Arthur explained his deal with Vash and an uneasy silence settled over the group.

"But there is still a chance!" said Elizabeta determinedly.

"Si! We could do it." Antonio agreed, not ready to look for employment again.

"Ve have gotten out of vorse." said Ludwig.

"Francis will love our circus!" Feliciano cheered, waving his hands about.

"You are all stupid." said Lovino, getting up. "But we have no choice, so let's go put on-a show."

"Yeah! I'm going to use my Ball of Death!" said Alfred, springing to his feet and running off to get the prop.

"Antonio, let's rework the music for your act so it includes the twins." Roderich suggested and the two went off.

"We should practice, da?" Matthew nodded, and soon everyone was at work getting ready for the show.

Late into the evening, Alfred finished constructing his "Ball of Death" and ran off eagerly to show his boss.

"Artie, Artie, Artie, Artie!" said Alfred, barging into his office.

"Yes, Alfred." Arthur sighed, rubbing his head from the new headache he just got.

"I finished the Ball of Death and wanted you to see it."

Some of the color drained from Arthur's face. "That's nice. Why don't you show Gilbert? He likes watching people get hurt."

"Aww." Alfred whined, leaning on Arthur's desk and looking at him with puppy eyes. "But I wanted to show you."

"Sorry, Alfred, I have work to do." Arthur got up from his desk to file some papers, breaking Alfred's puppy stare.

"But, Arthur, I never get to show you my stunts." said Alfred, grabbing his arm so he had to meet his eyes. "You never watch my act."

"Well, maybe if you didn't do something so dangerous I'd be able to stomach it." said Arthur, his voice rising.

"Elizabeta does a backflip on a half inch cable!"

"But she's not you!"

Realizing his own words Arthur's face turned scarlet.

"What?" Asked Alfred, and Arthur looked away. "Artie, what did you mean by that?"

Arthur shook his head and sprinted out the door.

"Arthur, wait!" Alfred called, chasing after him.

Arthur ran to the nearby stable where they kept Cachorro but Alfred was hot on his heels. He jumped and tackled Arthur, sending them both tumbling into a pile of hay. Arthur tried to shove him off, but Alfred just latched back onto him.

"Unhand me, blighter!" Arthur demanded, tossing about.

"No!" said Alfred, practically wrestling his boss. "Not until you tell me why you won't watch my act!"

Straw went everywhere. Arthur kicked and thrashed, but Alfred held him in place. He refused to hurt the small Brit, but wouldn't let him go. Much to Arthur's disappointment, Alfred was a lot stronger then he was, and he ended up exhausted and gasping for air. When Arthur grew still Alfred looked up at him.

"Arthur, what's wrong?" Alfred gasped, sitting up. "Why are you crying?"

"Because of you, you idiot!" said Arthur, hiding behind his hands. "A good boss shouldn't have feelings for an employee. This is unprofessional!"

Alfred's eyes widened, but a small smile tugged at his lips. "You have feelings for me?"

"Yes! You bloody—!" The sentence was interrupted when Alfred stole a kiss.

Arthur felt a thousand fireworks go off. His lips were soft and so skilled, but Arthur couldn't put his heart into it, he still felt like this was wrong.

Alfred pulled away and Arthur started to speak, but Alfred interrupted.

"I like you too, Arthur. It doesn't matter that you're my boss. You're good at what you do and us being together won't change that." said Alfred, looking him in the eye as he rested his forehead against Arthur's.

Conflict swirled through Arthur's brain. It was a dream come true, it was also impossible. He couldn't date an employee. He would lose respect, opened the door for nepotism, and...

"What if we broke up?" Arthur sobbed.

"If that happens, you can replace me." Alfred kissed his nose. "But I waited five years for you to say that, and now that you have I don't think I'm going anywhere."

Arthur looked up at him desperately, tears forming in his eyes, but he just couldn't give in.

"Arthur, for once don't be so logical, and just take the risk!" Alfred pleaded.

Arthur shut his eyes tight, unshed tears rolled down his cheeks. He reached around Alfred's neck, pulling him close.

"Alright, love." He said, then reunited their lips for long and passionate kiss.
