It's been days since I've heard from Niall. The competition is coming to a close so I know he's beyond busy. I tried sending him small texts trying to remind him that I love him and miss him but after him not replying after the third message I kinda just gave up.

School's starting soon and I've only made one friend, Liza. She's alright I guess. Then again she's my first friend that's a girl that I've had. So I really don't know how to act around her. She's pretty laid back but I'm still uneasy.

She offered to take me school shopping and since I haven't heard I word from Niall, I might as well. Just to get my mind off of him. She drives us to yet another village. But bigger. Much bigger. Why is everything in Florida outside? It's already hot as it is.

She takes me through a couple shops an helps me pick out some outfits that fit the dress code. I'm thankful to have someone like Liza. The more time I spend with her the less time I have to spend around John and Stephanie.

She takes me to a place called The World Market and a hint of amusement arises in me. I'd love to see what from Ireland they have. Unfortunately when we went in, the only thing familiar I see are the Kinder chocolate bars. A small smile takes over my face as I think back to the days that these were all Niall and i would eat. I grab a couple and buy them before Liz drags me out of the store.

"So there's this kind of back to school party tonight at my friend Ryan's house if you wanna come and meet some more people!" Liz says as we drive back to my house.

My stomach churns. I've never been the type of person that rather LIKED meeting new people.. But I also don't like the idea of starting at a new school where I didn't know anyone. Well. Except for Liz.

"Sure." I say, my nerves sending heat throughout my entire body at the thought of it.

"Yay! It's gonna be so stellar, Cara! I'll even come over to help you get ready!" She buzzes with excitement and keeps going on and on about tonight, but my thoughts drift off to Niall. He was never the partying type either. That's why we made such good best friends and the best couple. We could find the most comfort sitting at home doing nothing.

"Hello? Are you listening to me?" Liz snaps me out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry. What?" I blurt out.

"There will be TONS of hot guys there. One thing good about our school is that there's always fresh meat."

I scrunch my nose at her choice of words but brush them out of my mind.

"I have a boyfriend. That I'm very much in love with." I coldly state, unknowingly raising my hand to touch the star that laid on my chest.

"Oh yeah.." She mumbles and rolls her eyes. "I forgot. Your long distance relationship with Neil." She over exaggerates the words 'long distance', I guess trying to prove some kind of hidden point.

"Niall." I correct her.

"Whatever. It's an odd name either way." Her full focus is back on the road.

"Not to me.." I almost whisper as I stare out the window. I look up and see the moon already in the sky, even though it was still light out. I close one eye and cover the moon with my thumb.

"No matter where we are in the world, I can always look at the moon and know that you're under the same one." I say to myself in a whisper that's barely audible. At least over Liz's radio it isn't.

*Niall's POV*

I really should call Cara.. But the last couple of times I've tried she hasn't answered. I need some air desperately. This small room in this house is getting smaller by the second.
