Your P.O.V

We sat down at a table and Mark looked through the menu. Well i didn't need to since i was a regular customer and always ordered the same thing. "Aren't you eating?" Mark asked looking up at me from the menu. "I am, i already know what i'm ordering."

"Without looking at the menu?" He asked looking puzzled and i laughed. "Yup, i'm a regular here."

"I see." He said smiling and put the menu back down on the side of the table and called for a waiter. I knew the waiter very well. He's about 50 years old and when he came to our table he smiled. "Hello (Y/N), the usual?" I smile and nod. Mark gave him his order and before leaving he told Mark, "oh and this one's on the house, you don't have to pay for it." Mark looked confused and turned to me. "Why's that?"

"I've known the owner of this place for about 10 years now. She insists that whenever i eat here or have a friend eat here, I wouldn't need to pay." I say and Mark widens his eyes. "Wow... so remind me to bring you along the next time i want to eat here then" he joked and we both laughed. "So who else have you brought here?" I look down nervously and started fiddling with my fingers. "Well uh... I don't have many friends in Blackwell so uh... I haven't brought anyone here really."

"Hm... that seemed unlikely. Sorry I asked" he said and i looked up to see him looking out the window. This is new... I mean if i ever told anyone i had little to no friends they would usually start an interrogation. Like why? How is that possible? But Mark he accepts that and doesn't pry and that's actually... nice...

Mark's P.O.V

She doesn't have any friends? How can that be? She's such a wonderful girl... full of imagination and wonder. While I was in my thoughts, the waiter had brought us our food. We thanked him and started eating.

"You don't seem to talk much" i say after 5 minutes of silence. "Oh that... I just don't talk much while i'm eating that's all" she said and i nodded to show i understood. Once we were done we went to my car and i offered to drop her off at her house. "Mark i don't wanna owe you anything else, i can just walk home here." She said walking away from the car slowly. I laughed. "Alright, if you insist. See you tomorrow and make sure to come to school alright? The winner for the Everyday heros' contest will be announced"

"Okay, bye Mark" she said smiling and we waved each other goodbye. I then headed for my home and as i drove i started to think about (Y/N). Why did seeing her make me feel so at ease? Having a feeling like that is pretty rare... she has no friends? How? How can anyone ignore such a sweet girl. And her eyes... they're so beautiful I could get lost in them. Whenever i look at her... I can see the wonder in her eyes and how they reflect the light almost as if there were stars in them.

Wait a minute

Why am I thinking about her like that? Okay Mark get this straight. She's a student. You're a teacher. It can never happen between the two of you. And who in the world would go for this old man? Without realizing I was already 5 minutes near to my home. Well that was fast. Soon I got out of the car and went to my doorstep. But something was there. A black... thing? With fur...?

I squat down and two ears pop out from that bundle of fur. Two green eyes and a nose came next. A cat... It was actually quite a beauty. It's face was part white part black... almost as if it wore a mask (MEDIA). it walked around me and rubbed itself on my legs. "Haha well hello, do you have a home?" It just meowed in response and i picked it up and carried it in my arms. "Well i guess there's enough space for two." I say and open the door bringing it in. Well Mark this is new... didn't you hate cats? Why the sudden change of heart? I asked myself. Maybe... I've gotten soft... because of her.
