TRIGGER WARNING: Violence & Suicide
†"Most of the kids that go here are a bit problematic," said the security guard. Agents Rossi, Morgan, and Prentiss followed the man down the empty halls of Compton High School.
Voices were heard from the inside of the classrooms and a couple of late students rushing to their classes.
"How often are check-ups made?" Prentiss asked.
"Monthly? I'd say... three times or so. Depending on the student's behavior. We spend more money on check-ups than books."
"Is that healthy for a school?" Morgan questioned.
The man shrugged,
"I don't know, man. I just work here."Rossi and Morgan shared skeptic looks before the man opened the door to a classroom. The four stepped inside and stood beside the desk where the teacher was grading papers as her students read silently.
"Angel Santiago and Mario Cruz?" the officer announced. Several heads looked up simultaneously. Shrimp who was in the back stopped writing on his desk and furrowed his eyebrows at the agents.
"Angel is over there," the teacher pointed at him. The kids all turned their heads to the boy in the back of the class still leaning over the table, perfectly still.
Morgan walked over to him, his large frame towering over Shrimp.
"Are you Angel?" he asked narrowing his eyes."Yeah?" Shrimp was still a bit shaken by the previous events, but he tried to keep calm as best as he could.
"We need you to come with us. C'mon," Morgan took hold of Shrimp's forearm and starte to move him from his seat.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let strangers take—" the teacher was cut off by the badges that were placed in front of her.
"We're no strangers, ma'am." Morgan spoke.
"Where's your friend?" Rossi asked walking up to the scene with his hands tucked in his back pockets.
"I don't know," Shrimp answered with a shrug.
"He left a couple minutes ago." a girl answered.
"Said he was going to the bathroom." another boy answered slouching against the counter with his arms crossed over his chest.
Prentiss walked up to the lone desk in the corner of the room. She looked at the carvings on the wood carefully.
and the paper worksheet of Romeo and Juliet sitting on top. She looked out the window beside it where the parking lot was.
"He knew we were coming," she announced.
"Check the security cameras." Morgan told the security officer as he hurriedly walked towards the door. "Make sure you find out where he is going."
"Where are you going?" asked Rossi.
"I'm gonna bring him back." he answered and shut the door behind him.
