i heard my mum call for dinner, i walked down stairs in my old pjamasthat had fairys on them. i took a deep breath and walk down step by step. by the time i get to the eating area they didn't notice i was standing there for abit but then i cleared my throat to get their attention.
"Oh Edwina" my mum said as she walked up to me and gave me a hug. she started crying.
"ive missed the old you so much please tell me your the you i used to know"
"yes mum calm down I'm me i realized i don't have to change for anyone"
my dad tried to stay strong but i could see the happy ness in his eyes.
"come on dad, give me a hug" i reached my arms out to dad and he came over we had a massive family hug.
"okay lets eat dinner now" she wiped away her tears
"good because I'm starving" i giggled. mum and dad gave me stare
"what?" I grabbed a huge spoon full of mashed potato
"we just haven't heard you say that in ages" my mum and dad were in relief that I'm me again. that night i switched my night light on and went to sleep.
I got my dad to drop me off at school the next day. i walked into home group and got alot of stares, i sat next to Darcy like everyday
"What is this?" she was shocked.
"what is what?"
"You-Your clothes your hair your everything!"
"I was pretending to be someone I'm not" she groaned and turned her back from me.
In history Jason came up to me
"Eddy, you are so beautiful" he was sucking up to me
"Don't call me eddy"
"but i love this you not that other you"
"if you loved me you would have stayed with me even when i looked like liana" he put his head down in shame.
I went to the library at recess to study for a test in English. liana walked up to me
"are you seriously going back to that?"
"to what?" i kept on reading and didn't giver her eye contact
"to you"
"i want to be me i don't want to be a plastic Barbie doll bimbo thing" i turned a page
"what did you just call me?" she grind her teeth
"i didn't call you anything, i didn't even mention a name". she huffed and walked away . as she walked away lachii threw a milkshake on her "by accident" then he winked at me.
Lachii came and sat next to me for the rest of recess and told me how brave i was to change back.
"I like the way you look now you look so.."
"innocent?" i interrupted
"i was going to say beautiful" i was shocked
"oh" he went in for a kiss but then the bell went and he ran off. at lunch lachii sat next to me on the swings.
"your eyes are so pretty" he grazed my face with his hand
"thankyou" i replied.
"all students please move over to the hall for a quick assembly organized by one of our students!" said the voice over the loud speaker. the whole school started walking over to the gym for the assembly.
"i wonder who put that together" i said not knowing that lachii had put it together.
"yeah i wonder" he giggled ever so slightly.
When we got to the hall and took a seat next lachii.
"ill be back" lachii left so i was sitting there alone. then i saw lachiiwalk up onto the platform with a microphone.
"i have n announcement to make" lachii started to look at me.
"I have liked you for a while now but you had a boyfriends and i didn't want to get in the way but now i love you more than ever and i cant hold it in any longer.. EDWINA I LOVE YOU" i was shocked i covered my face.
"and all i want to know is if you will be my girlfriend" he walked over to me and held my hands
"what do you say?" i took the MIC out of his hands and said
"Lachii, i realized you liked me and i will say yes because i love you to" the school cheered as he kissed me. i felt loved for me and not for what I'm not. we walked out hand it hand.
"i cant believe we went in there just for that" groaned some of the students but some also has comments like
"that was super cute"and i had to agree it was super cute and i cant believe i have a amazing boyfriend like him.
lachii is tall and has red hair that he doesn't spike up. he is very pail like me and has a birth mark on the left side of his face that looks like a giraffe.
"Mum Dad I'm home" i yelled from the front door.
"Mum Dad IM home" giggle lachii as i took him home to meet my parents i pushed him but he just stood there and said love you too.
"did i hear a boy?" mum said as she skipped out of the kitchen
"oh who's he" mum proceeded to touching his face.
"mum that's my boyfriend and i think it would be best if you stopped touching his face". mum hugged me and said
"aw I'm so proud of you" i pushed mum aside and we went out the back.
me and lachii did fight alot and every now and again we would say that we wished we never met but the truth is that we were high school sweet hearts. i am now 26 and me and lachii are happily married with 3 kids and are the happiest we could be.
