"Sam Wake up! Professor Jane is waiting for you at the lab!" My mom yelled from downstairs. I jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and quickly fixed my messy hair. "Coming mom!" i said as i ran down the stairs. "Professor Jane is waiting for you at the Pokemon Lab" She handed over my Beanie and my Jacket and I went outside. As soon as i opened the door, A cool breeze hit me in the face. It was snowing as usual, I could barely see anything! Lowrock Town was located on top of a tall mountain so it snows almost every day, and even when its not snowing the ground is covered in a thick layer of snow. Luckily the Pokemon lab was just a short walk away so i wouldn't have much trouble getting there. As i was walking i watched the Ice Pokemon play around with eachother in the snow. They seemed to get along with each other very well. Ice Pokemon were the most common Pokemon here. Sneasel and Swinub were the most popular since they both have very strong evolutions. Other Pokemon like Delibird, Snorunt, Snover, and Spheal live here as well. Ice type Pokemon were my favorite anyways.
When i walked in the Pokemon Lab Professor Jane greeted me immediately. "Sam! Glad you could come! Follow me." I followed her to the back of the lab where I could tell she had been working on something important. "As you know I do research on Pokemon around the world. However I can not do all the reaserch by myself. I need you to go around the region and collect pokemon and show me what you caught! Here is a Hi-Tech device that will record Data on any Pokemon that you see" She handed me a small electronic device, "Its called the Pokedex. And you cant go on a Journey without a Pokemon!" My heart was pounding, I was so excited to finally be able to go on a Pokemon journey and become a Pokemon Trainer! "I will give you a chance to catch a wild pokemon for you to use! You can use my Munchlax to help you catch a pokemon" She handed me a Pokeball and called Munchlax over to her side. "Munchlax, Will you help this young man catch his first Pokemon?" Munchlax nodded in a friendly manner and came running happily to my side. He was a very friendly pokemon. Munchlax was a Normal type pokemon that evolves into a Snorlax, Another Normal type Pokemon. "Use Munchlax to Weaken the pokemon you want so it will be easier to catch" Munchlax and I followed the Professor out the door and into the cold once again. The sun was hidden behind the clouds in the sky but it was still bright enough to see, I liked this weather. Munchlax didnt seem to mind the cold, He had a pretty thick fur coat. "For a starting Pokemon I would suggest either Spheal or Swinub, They are pretty strong and not to hard to get along with." We kept walking in search for a pokemon when a group of Sneasel ran by. "Professor Jane, Can i catch a Sneasel for my Partner?" She nodded in approval and Munchlax and I ran after the group of wild Sneasel. "Munchlax use Body Slam!" I yelled. Munchlax ran at the wild Sneasel and plowed into it taking it completely by suprise. The Sneasel had fallen onto the floor and it couldnt move very easily. It must have been my lucky day because Munchlax's attack Paralyzed the Sneasel! It should be easy to catch now. I pulled out the Pokeball that Professor Jane gave me and threw it at the Sneasel. The Ball opened up and Sneasel was sucked inside. The ball rolled back and forth for a few seconds then it made a clicking sound, Indicating that Sneasel had ben caught. "Nice job Sam!" said the Professor. I ran over to the Pokeball and picked it up. I looked at Munchlax and he smiled back at me. "Thank you Munchlax."
When we returned to the lab I handed Professor Jane the Pokeball containing Sneasel. She placed it into a large machine and pushed a few buttons. A few seconds later she handed Sneasel back to me. "This machine healed Sneasel. Pokemon Centers in each town have this machine. Before you leave for your journey, Lets call your mother." We walked over to the monitor that was on the Counter by the Pokemon Healing machine and called my mother. Within seconds her face appeared on the screen. "Oh Hello Professor!" "Hello Mrs.Heron, How are you?" "Im doing well thank you, I hope my boy isn't causing to much trouble!" My mother and the professor were talking for a while "Well anyways I would like to send Sam on a journey to help me out with my Pokemon Studies. Would that be OK with you?" Asked Professor Jane, "Certainly! Is Sam there?" I walked up to the screen. "Hi mom" "So you re going on a Journey? Do you have a Pokemon?" I nodded and pulled out the Pokeball containing Sneasel. "Go Sneasel!" I held the Pokeball out and Sneasel Appeared out of the Pokeball and onto the ground. "Snee!!!" Yelled Sneasel. "Sam caught a female Sneasel using my Munchlax. This will be his Partner on his journey. He will be safe with her, Sneasel is a very strong Pokemon." said the Professor. "Oh wow thats a cute Pokemon you have there!" Said my mom. "Well I wish you the best of luck on your journey! Dont forget to call me sometimes!" "OK bye mom!" She smiled and the screen went dark. "From here you will want to go to Little Hill town at the bottom of the Mountain. There is a Pokemon Gym that you can challenge. I believe the Gym Leader uses Grass Type Pokemon, They are very popular down there. Good luck on your Journey!" "Thankyou Professor!" I started walking towards the door. "C'mon Sneasel." Sneasel caught up to me and was at my side "Snee!" She seemed happy. "Oh i almost forgot!" The professor ran over to me and handed me 5 Pokeballs. "These should help you on your journey!" She walked over to her desk and i headed out the door, My journey has just begun.
